Re: Craster's Son's (a slight spoiler if you didn't figure it out (pretty obvious) already from the last scene).

There are other scenes in the books in north where tiny bones are found Weir-wood mouths. It's also alluded to that 'Craster's Sons' are Others. I think Gilly calls them Craster's Sons. It's been a while since I read the books.

Yeah, I was really looking forward to that scene as well since it made me LOL in the book. Yara flirted with Theon to deceive him into revealing his true plans on coming back, and then the oh-**** moment when they arrive and he realizes it's his sister. Would have like to see them do it a little better.

I figure it was a time issue.

I didn't think so. From what I remember, it was just that he was sacrificing them to the Others so they would leave he and his daughters alone.

I did not happen in the book. GRRM gives a very good account and detailed description of Jon's actions while at Crasters. And HBO does not need to manufacture a reason for the Nightswatch to leave Crasters. They were never planning in staying for long.

I think it's more to keep the Others in regular scenes than anything else.

That reason makes as much sense as anything else but I'm not sure what the rush was since last season the others made one appearence in the opening scene last season with a wight making an appearence later in the season.

Are you GOT book readers going to keep obsessively reference every scene back to the books? I don't know of any movie that has been 100% true to their source literature. I've read the Walking Dead comics and I treat both the book and show as separate mediums. As a non-book reader, I'm probably lucky that I can really enjoy this show without the bias of the books itself.

    Don't be so offended.

I love both series and books. And up to this point I have been pleasantly surprised as to how true the series has been to the books. There have been others like True Blood that have not been as true to the books. Up to this point none of the differences have effected the story.

But part of the enjoyment of both reading the books and watching the series is discussing the differences between the books and the series. I love the fact that HBO started the Stark kids out 3 years older than in the books. Pike with its connecting bridges is much better than I had imagined in the books. I had no real expectation of what Jaqen H'ghar would look like boot I think they did a great job. HBO has kept a lot of the original dialog from the books which I love.

But there are also scenes that I thought could have been better. When Yara (Asha) meets Theon is really the main example for me. And I'm not sure where they are going with Jon and Craster so I will hold off on any oppinion until it plays itself out.

If you have not read the series then I suggest reading it. It's a great set of books and the HBO series just enhances them. And you might find out that you might enjoy discussing both series and books as well.

Probably right, but I really wish they would have done more than 10 episodes for CoK. They could have easily stretched out the season to 14 episodes and they wouldn't have to jump between characters so fast. At least with SoS it's going to be over 2-3 seasons.

Knowing that they're trying to compress a big long book into only 10 episodes, have you guys wondered why they've lingered on some scenes? The scene where the peasant was appealing to Bran for some masons come to mind. And the last episode, the scene where Littlefinger has that talk with Ros.

Why did they randomly change Yara's (Asha's) name?

There's a character named Osha. They didn't want confusion. However, I think it was dumb to change Asha's name instead of Osha's. Probably didn't think about it ahead of time.

I think it's stupid to change it at all. I don't think there would ever be a time those two women would even be mentioned in the same sentence to cause any sort of confusion.

And it's not like Osha is constantly referred to by name either. Plus, with everything else the show expects the audience to keep up with, this seems like an odd choice to make more "obvious" to viewers.

Yeah I thought of that with the Littlefinger scene. Personally I would have prefered for them to cover some of the other scenes in a little more detail than adding scenes like that.
