    Best ratings yet:

Fantastic news. Wonder if they can get 3 million for the finale.

Not only have the episodes gotten more viewers week to week, each episode has been better. Episode 8 was the best of the season so far. I guess we are finally at a point where we have been "introduced" to the characters and they can tell a story.

Great episode. I'm actually enjoying Varys's character a lot more than I would have expected. He seems very genuine in his claim that he works for the realm and no other.

I found the lack of Syrio's death scene heartening as well. Since they didn't really "show" Ned's beheading in the book either (just mentioned that Yoren turns Arya away and the crowd cheers) I kind of assumed that was George RR Martin's style and that Syrio really was dead...but maybe he gets involved with Arya again now that she is in Braavos. I certainly hope so. That dude was awesome.

    Yeah, but

Joffrey makes Sansa look at her Ned's head on a spike later on, correct? And the crowd reaction is pretty convincing.

    Ned's dead, baby. Ned's dead.

I'm certain that Syrio is alive. Might have jumped through a window, quick as a cat.

    Re: Syrio

Syrio = Jaqen. Jaqen = The Alchemist (FFC Prologue)

Question to those that are up to date with all the books...
Is Arya temporarily blinded or was it permanent? Or do we not know as of yet? ... I forget.

GRRM has made some comments on the issue that don't really clear up anything:

Yeah, you kind of misunderstood me. I wasn't pointing out that Ned might be alive, just that Martin "showed" the death of each in a similar way. So after Ned was pretty much proven to be dead, I assumed that Syrio was as well and figured Martin had some weird hangup where he didn't like to actively write people's death moments. But here lately I have gotten more hope for Syrio. I kind of like the idea that he is Jaqen and that he keeps showing up in Arya's life because he is shaping her into some kind of master assassin....or something.

For anybody thinking about clicking on the spoiler, I'm pretty sure the spoiler tag is just for the size of the image and not the content since it was shown in the previews for this week's episode.

Don't want to read the last 32 pages. Thinking of watching this show, how good is it?

Is it some kind of Lord of the Rings? :)
