Suns have gotten weaker Lakers have become true contenders. Lakers management is top notch...I mean who the hell has heard of Sasha, Farmar, Turiaf when they were drafted? But now they've become solid players...Lakers scouts pick their players wisely. They know what type of players it takes to excel in their system and such. Every team has their stars, but you need the right role players to win the championship.
I meant with Bynum protecting the basket Amare will be sent back pretty times. You'd rather Amare take jumpers all night long.
Go check the record! They were on a roll before Bynum got injured, had the best record in the West. They are so talented from top to bottom, and big, and athletic, and young!
Uh..Im sorry but that's the most idiotic post I've read in a while. That is comparable to saying Spurs management is not that good, because without drafting Duncan they would be a mediocre team. And Lakers are much more than just Gasol, they were already playing superb basketball before the Gasol trade due to players like Farmar and Bynum, but Gasol has made them real contenders.
The Lakers would have been a 7th or 8th seed without gasol. They are lucky cause they had cheap owner and r****ded GM who gave them Gasol for nothing. This is the same management that trade caron butler for kwame brown.
Tack on the players they have through low draft picks--Farmar, Vujacic, Turiaf, Bynum--they do pretty well with what they got.
They were decent last year in the 1st half, but they weren't too good in the 2nd half. That is why kobe wanted a trade.
That's a moot point when the lakers followed up that loss to Atlanta last week, with a 40 point blow out last night.
lets see, the Lakers have - acquired solid role players with low, 1st round draft picks. Bynum, Farmar, Turiaf, Sasha - knows how to get rid of crap, like Smush Parker and Kwame Brown - pretty much started over with just Kobe a few years ago, and now have become contenders. What has Houston done these past few years? A few pages back you were saying how stacked and good the Lakers are, yet you keep on insisting their management sucks? Right..
Maybe it's just me but I liked what the Suns showed me tonight. Shaq will not slow this team down and you still can't single cover the guy (they tried a few times tonight to no avail....he is still too big). For the first time in forever I saw a Suns player grab tough rebounds and contest shots inside the lane. I saw other players like Amare have more freedom on the inside (especially on the offensive boards) because you still have to body Shaq up. Now of course their spacing seemed worse but it's his first game there. If Shaq is truly content to grab boards and just try to fit in...and not have the offense run through him then they got over. Oh, and LA does look good but Gasol is a softie. In a series against SA I can still see Duncan, Thomas and company getting whatever they want on the inside. LA has a huge frontline from SF-C, but two of them are cupcakes.
The Suns have nothing to be ashamed of after tonight's game. They would have beaten anyone in the NBA besides the Lakers.
Gasol is soft, but he is no pushover on defense. Anyways, Bynum is great at protecting the basket. Odom is no slouch either. I don't see no cupcake. I feel much better about the Suns no matter the trade is good for them or not, because now we match up with them better.
We've been playing like the Pistons lately. No real star, Yao and TMAC have sucked it up some what....and the others have stepped up. A FULL team effort.
That's what I was thinking after tonight. Our team defense has been solid and the offense has been more well-rounded then before. Grinding it out on the defense is our best chance at getting past the first round.
