I'm a Cowboys fan, and I agree that this is no game of the century. It is the game of the week though.
that is a pretty good comparison, that last 49ers team is still the best NFL team I have ever watched
This post reminded me of the old SNL skit, "Da Superfans" except they were fans of Da Bears instead of Da Pats. But yea, the Patriots should absolutely assrape the Cowboys. Game of the century?? LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL..... Thanks for the laugh, threadstarter - too bad you didn't do this thread yesterday morning when I really needed a good laugh. Game of the season and possibly of the century will happen in November when it's the Colts against the Pats.
Easy on the 'Game of the Century' stuff there buddy.. although, to be fair, the OP did not say 'Game of the Century' in the thread, just in the title.. probably what he meant to say was what he actually said in the thread: 'Most-Hyped Regular Season Game in Decades' . Now that is certainly a stretch also, because we're only 5 games in.. if this was two 10-0 teams, then maybe. However, there is no doubt that it will be the most-hyped game of the season so far. If and when the Pats and Colts hook up as undefeateds, then THAT game will become the 'most-hyped'. That said, while NE clearly looks to be a better team than Dallas at this moment, they still need to suit up and play for 60 minutes. Dallas clearly looked to be the better team than Buffalo, and look what happened. As we saw last night, you really cannot overestimate the importance of home-field advantage. texas Stadium is going to be absolutely thundering for that game. remember the Colts game last year? Nobody gave the Cowboys a chance in that game either, especially with Romo being so new. But the defense was clicking, they got after Manning, and the offense worked well enough to get the win. Against, I may add, the team which won the Super Bowl, and that was not the Patriots. Yes, I know, different players, different situations, all that. Of course. However, the precedent is there, and New England at 5-0 is certainly not more intimidating than Indy at 9-0. So we'll see. Besides, as amusing as it is to see all those haters come out of the woodwork, with their pathological hatred of the Cowboys, and how they like to point out the relative weakness of their schedule so far, the Patriots' schedule has not been any stronger. In fact, that Giants win is starting to look better and better each week. In any case, no matter who each team has played, neither team has faced a team the caliber of each other yet. New England has not faced an offense as potent and balanced as the Cowboys, and I guarantee you they have not faced a defense like this one. Likewise, Dallas has not faced anyone like the Patriots. These teams have faced similar competition, and have almost identical stats. They are as close to being completely evenly matched, at least on paper, as it is possible for two teams to be. Throw in home-field for Dallas, and that should go the rest of the way in negating whatever small advantage NE might possess. I won't be terribly surprised by the outcome, either way. I would love to see the Cowboys win, but it won't shock me if they don't, and it won't kill me, because it's a 16-week regular-season, not 6 weeks. They might have a rematch in January. But all of you haters.. I wonder what you are going to say if the Cowboys win? You can't say they haven't played anybody' any more. It will be interesting to see which ones actually have any backbone, and can bring themselves to come and give props where they are due. I expect most to just slink back into the shadows. Personally, I promise to give all proper respects to New England, if that's the way the game turns out. hehe I am crossing my fingers the other way, though, no doubt about it..
I think Dallas can upset NE, but they'll have to play a better game than they have so far. The offense has been night and day pretty much from one half to the next. This last game against the Bills was the most impressive the d has looked, and they were still missing tackles and taking bad angles which resulted in giving up yards they shouldn't. Dick Jauron's schemes with a crappy d unit gave Romo some fits last night. I'm sure Belicek was paying attention. And Brady wont hesitate to test the cowboys deep, unlike trent edwards. Whichever way this game goes, it will provide a great learning experience for the cowboys.
That defensive scheme set the tone for the night. Cowboys didn't know what was going on. I was impressed with the Bills defensive intensity.
I actually like the Cowboys, but NE is going to crush them. NE's defense, along with their offense vs. the 'boys d is too much for dallas. hoping for a barnburner, though
Dallas haters or not. this slowly has become the most anticipated game of the season. it doesnt matter who or what. two 5-0 teams going head to head is going to draw some hype.
Oh, so YOU mean undefeated in the regular season. To me, undefeated means the perfect season. I know you would probably be happy for your team just to reach the playoffs. It'll come some day.
Dismissing the Cowboys hating nonsense, didn't the Pats cheat in some of their victories. Hmmm...I wonder...
I'm sure your first playoff win during the Texans existence will come some day too. Of course, you probably couldn't read about it, since your head hurts from three tiny paragraphs. Wait, maybe I'll go ahead and make this post a little longer. You know, not really say anything, but let's see if I can make it too long for Cowboy fan to comprehend. Did you know that the Texans first five seasons are better than the Cowboys first five seasons? While the Cowboys didn't even win a game their first season, the Texans won their first ever regular season game. Also, did you know that the Cowboys don't even know what city they play in? They call themselves the Dallas Cowboys, yet they play in Irving. Then they're going to play in Arlington. That's not Dallas. Dumbasses. Oh yeah, I hope they can afford to actually finish the new stadium. They couldn't even finish the roof on that dump they play in now. Yeah, yeah, they say it's so God can watch his team, but don't they know that we all know that God has X-Ray vision? Duh.
yea, i know it's hard to comprehend that i meant in the regular season...especially when i said i want them to lose in the 2nd round of the playoffs. oh lookie, a cheapshot at a 6 year old franchise. think i'm gonna go cry now b/c my team can't even get a chance to lose in the first round of the playoffs the last ten years.
While you may judge a teams success on one victory, Cowboys fans know that there is more out there than beating an in-state rival. I can understand your enthusiasm for a football team, seeing as you didn't have one for how many years? I can also understand your enthusiasm for a championship team, since you haven't had one since when? NEVER?
HAHAHA...pulling the old, "we're a young team" card. That one never gets old. First round of the playoffs...how do they look while sitting at home.
