"Oh Niko, tell me interesting things" I picked it up (Xbox 360) last night before the Rockets game. Gotten in about 4 hours so far. I'm really enjoying it, but I'm not at that point where I like it better than Vice City, but I'm sure that will come. I really love the cell phone. It's such a great interface for interacting with characters. I'm struggling a bit with the driving and combat -- that will probably come around pretty soon too. The detail of the city is incredible, and the characters are fun. I love Little Jacob -- what a riot.
OK for those who are having freezing problems on the PS3, try this fix: http://www.gametrailers.com/viewnews.php?id=5883
Ok I have a question. I really want this game but I don't have an XBox 360 or PS3. Which system should I buy? Overall, which one is supposed to better? I have been playing playstation 2 for years so I'm more accustomed to the controls and everything. I heard the PS3 is more expensive, is it worth the extra money?
whichever one you have more friends on. both games are identical on both systems, and im a big sony fan boy/ps3 fan boy lol.
If you're going to play online a lot, I'd say get the 360. The 360 uses the internet well with downloadable content (extras) for games, shows, movies, demos, etc. Xbox Live is a great online gaming service. I'd get the PS3 if you're into movies. The PS3 is THE best bluray player out right now, it's cheaper than most bluray players, it can upgrade bluray firmware, AND it plays games. The online gaming on PS3 is free, but it has a smaller amount of people online. Another thing to consider: if you like first person shooters better, then get the 360. The controller is the best for the genre. but if you like fighting games, the PS3 controller is better. I think it's more responsive. In a nutshell, do you like playing Halo or do you like playing Metal Gear Solid?
Tough call. I have a 360 and have loved every moment of it. A lot of my friends have the same system, so Im constantly online with them, which makes things very fun. I will, however, get the PS3 at some point. It's blu-ray capabilities make it a very appealing system. I think if you place high priority on online gaming, then go with the 360. If you place high priority on more of a complete entertainment system (movies, games, online, etc...) then go with the PS3. I dont think you can go wrong with either one, but it just depends on what you are looking to get out of the system. EDIT: I probably should have read what clutch citizen wrote before I posted...basically said the same thing.
Well to be honest, besides the Grand Theft Auto series, I mainly play sports games. So I'm talking your Madden games, NCAA football, etc... But thanks for the advice and knowledge. I really can't wait to get started on this game once finals are over next week.
If you like sports games, I'd probably go with the 360. Xbox Live is great for playing online, especially in sports games. Based on reviews on gaming sites, sports games are generally better on the 360. It's not the PS3's fault, it's the developers. Madden 08 had the worst difference between the systems. the performance was terrible on the PS3. EA admitted to the problems on the PS3. 2K would have been better anyway, but that's another discussion.
I think the last Madden ran smoother on the 360 than PS3...i think the frame rate was markedly better. But, other than that, its pretty identical and Im sure there will be improvements for the upcoming game. If you're basically just going to play sports games, then you may as well get the cheaper 360.
NCAA 09 PS3 has been played by some select people. Framerate is now at 60. That issue is a thing of the past. Microsoft and EA do seem to have some kind of partnership going though.
hey does anyone know how to "date" when you go into the internet cafe and look at the girls it has the option to date, and you can click it. can u really go out on a date with those girls?
I tried to date the one which I thought was the hottest of the bunch...she was a stripper in her profile. However, when I clicked to date her, nothing really happened. Im pretty sure you can date a few of them though. Anyways, went to the strip club and got a dance from that girl anyways, so i still kinda got some action from her.
Same for me. I was about to get really mad. I already had to get a new PS3 because of this game. As for the online dates, I clicked on several of them and the next time I went to tw@ (what a great name!) I had emails from the owner of the dating site telling me that they had denied me.
There are a few you can date and the owner will eventually tell you which ones have profiles that match yours. I went on one date with one but Gamespot did a 2 hour playthrough leading up the the release and they mentioned that she was a slut but would constantly nag you and call you all the freaking time. After the first date it gave me the option of continuing to date her or to avoid it for now and I chose the latter option. I won't tell you which one she is though.
yeah, forget that 12 step fix. Just log off PSN and it works. Which I think is reallly weird.. other forums are starting to report this fix. psn to blame? anyone have a clue as to how?
Anyone on PS3 get the multiplayer to work? I seem to be having the same problem everyone else is having. If I'm logged onto PSN, then the game hangs on the loading screen. Turn off PSN and it works fine. But then try to log into the multiplayer and it freezes up...could it be just because of the server load right now (primetime on a Saturday)?
I think it has to be that the phone is the entrance to online play. The phone has to be in the game and if it's having difficulty connecting, it may hang up the loading process. I just had this problem for the first time tonight - and I haven't even tried online once. This appears to be R*'s problem. The 60 gig freezing problem I had was never fixed and within 24 hours I had no video output whatsoever from my PS3 - it wouldn't even reset. I think that problem is with Sony.
I missed a ton of stuff from the tutorial while I was figuring everything out. I can't jump out of a moving vehicle When the car service sends someone to pick me up, I always end up car jacking them instead of riding as a passenger. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. I also can't figure out how to set a way point in the map and use the GPS to help me get there. I remember seeing somethings about all that in the tutorial, but it moved too quickly for me to see exactly how to do it. The game is a blast though. I haven't been to an internet cafe. I will have to find one.
Here are 360 controls: To jump out of a moving car, just press Y. To get into a cab without carjacking it, press and HOLD Y. To set a waypoint, press start to pause and bring up the map screen. Press A. Move the cursor with the left stick and zoom in and out with the R and L triggers. Highlight where you want to go and press A. A green line showing your route should appear. I don't think you can go to TW@ until Roman and Brucie tell you to go there to set up an account.
