Questions: i heard there will be no airplanes to fly in GTAIV, is that true? I hate driving in cars for hours and hours just to get to somewhere i want to go ! In san andreas i think i flew in the air more than i drove in cars. and i heard there will be no more basketball minigames, are they sayin' euros cant ball?
Rockstar support just confirmed to me on the phone that they know there is a problem but they don't know what to do about it yet.
This makes me pleased that I lack the funds to have gone out and bought this last night, which, believe me, I was sorely tempted to do.
Well, I can only go by the one forum I went to, but they have a HUGE impressions thread and I haven't seen one mention of freezing outside of one guy who's 360 happen to die coincidentally. Now, I didn't read every post (is just too big) but there would by a ton of people b***ing about it if it was a big issue IMO.
I got the 360 version at midnight last night...played for about 4 hours so far, no problems whatsoever
There are helicopters you can fly. The view from up top is beautiful. And one thing you have to do if fly to the top of the Empire State Building and jump out. The fall down is ridiculous! Obviously, you can't fly airplanes in this game due to 9/11. So I guess you have to practice your Al Quadia skills elsewhere. On a more serious note, this is easily the most fun I ever had in a video game. I've had it since Thursday and there were times where I spent 3-4 hours straight playing the online free mode. And I've never played any game for that long at one time. There's just so much you can do.
I picked up my PS3 version (not special edition) last night at midnight. I played from 1230 until 230 with no problems. I haven't tried any online yet. As a matter of fact I've never played any video games on line so this will be my first. The graphics look great. The vehicle controls take a little getting use to. I haven't even shot anyone yet so I'm not that far into the game. I did get into a street fight just to see what happened. Cops showed up. I punched one. They shot me.
say what? You guys got me kind of worried with the freezing issue. I bought my game online so it better work. My PS3 and GTA4 will arrive on thursday.
Damn that sucks about the freezing issue, kind of makes me want to hold off on buying it, anyone been running into this issue on PS3?
I just read that the 360 version has a native 720p output, and the PS3 only has an UPSCALED 640p, not even true resolution. Man, I actually WANT to get it on the PS3, but 360 version just has too many additional features. 360 owners... 1. how bad is the texture pop-in? 2. how loud does it get? 3. how is the framerate? And to anyone that got the special edition, is the duffle bag good quality?
Please post what system your using when you review the game, that would help for us trying to decide what system to get it for. thankz
All accounts point to GET THE GAME Both versions are the same. 360 loads a little slower but not by much at all The game is worth the hype, stop worrying about the few isolated freezing issues. Online is smooth on both systems, you can invite friends from your cell phone in the game PS3 Get the game guys
1.) I haven't noticed any blatant pop-in, but I'm not specifically looking for it, I'm just playing the game 2.) loud? as in the DVD drive or what? if so, same as any other 360 game 3.) framerate is fine, seems about 20-30
I actually wonder why Rockstar didn't put the 360 version at 630p (or whatever) too, since it should have improved the image quality (or at least kept it about the same, while possibly improving the performance). On another note, I think people would be surprised to see how many major games are rendered in a non-HD resolution and upscaled.
Just bought 360 version. Wasn't going to b/c don't really have time for it, but all this hype convinced me.
Apparently 60GB PS3's have a big problem with this freezing issue (sucks for me) but apparently Rockstar says just delete the game data and re-download it. Hmm...
