You're telling me about the only attention being paid to baseball where I'm at is whether there will be a special legislative section to get new stadiums for the Twins, Gophers and Vikings. I've gotten a few compliments though on my Stros cap so I do think the Stros excellent play is winning over some converts in the soon to be frozen north.
Two words: Fred Brocklander The Stros have been on the bum end of enough crappy calls in their playoff history that I could care less if we advance based on a couple that go our way. Oh, and that double play was clearly out.
The double play call was correct. It was also an incredible play, just incredible. The strike zone was a mess. But the pitches Tony and Jim were b****in' about had been called strikes before in the game. They'd also been called balls. It affected both teams - only one team lost their cool over it. And you can't call an ump a mother****er, a ********** and a p***y without expecting to get the heave-ho.
All I can say is two of the people I hate the most in baseball are La Russa and Edmonds and both got their asses run. They've both got their whining way over the years and this time they b****ed at the wrong umpire. Screw 'em. Bout time we got a break. Remember Walt Weiss.
Did anyone else get annoyed by those dumbarses calling the game? Why do I get the feeling that all those guys are rooting for the Cards? They sounded down right depressed when the Astros made that final play (and any good play really throughout). In game 3, one of the commentators kept on making excuses for the Cards by repeatedly pointing to their "depleted bullpen"! What a bunch of idiots
The best was the Chisox/Angels pregame show where all they could talk about after showing the game inning DP was how heads up a play Walker made to take 3rd. Yeah, THAT was the play of the game. Idiots.
Haha, Pujols choked. What was he thinking, running on a hard-hit grounder to third with nobody out? That double-play was awesome. Mabry must be extremely slow. Even the announcers believed it was a tie-game as the play was unfolding. Garner's moves made me think he was an idiot, and the outcomes make me think he's a savant. One of the Fox announcers made a good point in game 3. The Astros are accustomed to not scoring a lot of runs, so they're comfortable with playoff games being low scoring affairs. The Cards on the other hand have one of the most potent lineups in baseball, and are probably trying too hard to score a run.
Right on... the ump was right there, great throw and Lance stretched for all he was worth. A heart-stopping game I somehow lived through. We couldn't be in a better position against the Cards, but it's not over, yet. It's never over for a Houston team until the fat lady has swallowed the damn microphone. Go Astros!!!!!
Mango Burke, thats frickin hilarious! LOL. Todays game was so sweet. Finally its the Astros that are coming out on the right end of officiating instead of being hosed and looking like idiots. LaRussa and Edmunds thrown out, I loved it. Almost as much as I loved Sanders r****ded ballerina botched catch in game 2. This is the year, i can feel it.
im sorry i have to post this pic, too funny Jose looking like a little kid getting autograph from Pujols
