roger ain't goin out like that . . . last outing . . . two innings? I don't think so. Mr. Dominance will return.
I just don't think the Astros had the talent to win....they played with all their hearts, but their skills were not on the same level. The Astros pitching is good, but the Sox is too, and when it comes to hitting, well....come on.....no contest there, so the best team clearly won. I just wish they didn't win so easily.....now MadMax doesn't get to go to game 5.....and neither do I.... GRRR !! DD
No doubt about it -- the WhiteSox are the better team. The games were all SO CLOSE, you feel like the Astros could've been the ones celebrating right now.
it was a great season for the stros, but how we lost is hard to take. im most disappointed on the way ensberg played throughout the playoffs with the except of the first game. he looked confused and lost throughout the series, and as a result berkman was never given the chance to drive in runs.
Look at that.. f***ing Selig. You screwed w/ our mojo with the roof open bulls**t and look what happens...we drop 2 at home where we have been untouchable in the past two postseasons. I BLAME YOU! YOU'RE FIRED!
man, the CWS don't look like they just won the world series...more like a division series, I was expecting something crazy. Maybe it's cuz they saw it coming.
Or they could have won a game here and there... and still ended up losing somehow in 7. There wasn't much to separate these two teams from taking it that far... except for the fact that the White Sox have been virtually unbeatable (no matter how they do it) the last 2 1/2 weeks. Honestly... I didn't know if I could stomach another 6 or 7 game series after the last two years... and frankly, these games were close enough to make it feel almost that bad.
I refrained from posting, but that's not enough. Regardless of the sweep or the little hitting we got, thanks for a UNBELIEVABLE season! I've never been more proud as an Astros fan as I am this year. The team is getting a little high on the age side, but I hope we can pull it through a couple more times. It's typical that Biggio was there on the on-deck circle watching the last out. It's a sign of things to come? Either way, thanks for making a fan out of me. Games are close. We shared laughters and anguish. We watched our stars struggle and our bench flourish. I'll never forget some of these memories!! THANKS ASTROS!
Except the hitting...or lack of hitting on the Astros part. How Ironic that the team that got shut out the most times this season, got shut out to end the World Series.... Got to upgrade the offense. Just think if we had Kent or Beltran's bat in this years lineup....I think we win the series then..... Ah well, we got farther than ever, and I have been rooting for them since 1972....so maybe next year. DD
What a season. The Astros are the National League champs for the first time ever. They played in their first World Series ever. They BATTLED every freaking game. They were a base hit per game away from sweeping the other way...they never gave up. Great team. There are some young guys on this team that I look forward to watching for years to come and I'm glad some of the older guys got to play in the World Series. Winning their league is bigger in this sport than any other sport...its still a BIG deal that these are the National League champs. I really think this team is 1 bat away from being right back in the World Series next year and winning. Don't break up the team...just add that one RBI guy to put in there with Berkman and Ensberg. Anyways...this series was much closer than the sweep would indicate. A play here and there makes this the Astros' series. Go get em next year!
