Wow, I thought that was safe . . . I suppose it doesn't matter, the 'stros would've just been out the next at-bat. edit: that reply shows it all -- ALMOST beat it.
how else would the houston astros finish their first world series than the most pathetic hitting display ever. 15 innings w/o scoring was it?
It's just not fair. How can so many close plays not go our way? Great season, but it's tough to see it right now.
Perfect way to finish the season. Get shut out. Thanks Lidge for losing another game. 19 innings straight of being shutout to finish the season!!! Yippie!
The better team won. A fun ride, but sure wish we could have been more clutch in the WS.....this team is SOOOO close, just one bat away...well, one GOOD bat away. Roger....ONE MORE YEAR !!! Go Rockets ! DD
It's amazing how every break seemed to roll the Sox way, how they made one great play after another, came up w/ one clutch hit after another. They played virtually perfectly...how can you win against that. But the Astros fought to the end.
I hope this series is a catalyst like the 40pt loss was to the Rockets about what are deficiencies are.
Dude, if you are such the optimist, how did you have this typed up BEFORE the last out, hmmmmmmm???? Just kidding.....Good on ya for never giving up....publicly....
At least we hit them more than the Angels did... and we competed with them far more than the Red Sox did. Seriously... things could have gone either way... but whether we were swept, or simply going to end up losing in game 7... the White Sox were the better team.
It is garner's fault to put the hitless guys in the games 4.. We wasted too many chances by powerless hitters.
i don't see how berkman having 500 walks and 0 runs scored is going to help the team next year. and we're only at 15 scoreless right? 9-14 last night plus 1-9 tonight is 15.
Reminded me of the 1995 Rockets, frankly... they were untouchable after the Suns series, and the White Sox just finished the season/playoffs by winning 17 OF 18 GAMES!
