This was nothing new that was suddenly discovered in the World Series. The 18 inning game showed us that... and it was showed in the NLCS.

It was tough to watch, but we got to the World Series solely on great pitching and timely hitting. There have been far better lineups to never play on this stage... and far better assembled "teams" that never got here either (the 1998 Astros at the top of that list).... but these guys did.

I seem to forget. Who got to the World Series and who blew a 2-0 lead on the road in the 1st road to get beat by 40 in Game 7?

Wow, a new low point for you. You only show up to complain when the Astros are about to get swept. Where were you when they went on the amazing run to get to this point?

Well, oddly I'm not pissed off. Some how I have found a state of complete calmness.

    I'm just letting it come.

Maybe you remember it wrong, we didnt make the World Series last year. Getting to the World Series this year when you didnt the year before is called progress.

are you actually arguing that having more offense might not be a good thing?

This will be the 4th time in the last 9 years that AL has swept the NL team in the world series. The only way NL can win is to have absolutely dominant power pitching (Arizona with Johnson and Schilling, Marlins with Burkett). I don't see Cardinals or Braves would've fared much better if they had made to the world series instead of Astros.

You yourself said they weren't championship caliber in April... May... June... July... and August.

Now that they got here, they were suddenly "supposed to win???"

    Seriously... spare us.

And they went out and retooled with Stromile Swift and Derek Anderson, and Rafer Alston.

Will the Astros have the guts to say goodbye to Everett & Bagwell etc?

Astros I beg of thee, do something here. Show us something. You have the ability, just tell that voice in your head that is saying otherwise to SHUT UP!
We want to believe. We need to believe. Don't go out with a whimper.

Last year's team + Pettitte = Championship caliber.

I was at the game last night. No one can question my desire to watch this team win. I'm frustrated that an obvious weakness was never remedied -- hitting.

Yeah losing the last game isn't near as hard because you have completion, whereas losing the first 3 you just feel like you are digging a hole ... Now that we are finally burried, we can Rest In Peace

Even the great Mariano Rivera has blown a few saves in the postseason.

The Rockets didn't win an NBA title until they made it to the finals for the 3rd time. Just hope the Astros don't do the same thing because it will be 80 years before we actually get to win a WS. ;)
