The 8th inning is a mirror of what it has been the difference in the series.

No, no, I agree, getting there is special, but not showing up offensively is very frustrating.

This team may not hit lights out, but they really stunk in the clutch....almost to the point of embarrasment.

I have said it many times, but the American league is simply WAY better than the National league right now....is it any coincidence that both the Cards and us went out with a wimper once we got to the series, I think not.

You can pitch around Berkman and Pujols and beat both teams, but the WS are loaded up and down the lineup.....

I hope to live to see us get back....hopefully next year with Furcal as our SS.

I really hope Lidge isn't done. Otherwise we're not winning anything next year.

well fellas, it was a fun season. see yall next year, hopefully with some added offense to our lineup. as ****ty as it is getting swept like this - especially like this - getting this far was a hell of a ride. i wouldn't trade this season for anything in the world...... except a world series trophy. but ya know what guys? these asshats from chicago may win this thing, but look at the "women" they have to go back home too..... poor bastards.

    BRING ON THE ROCKETS, BABY!

I'm talking about before opening day this season, not after the 2004 playoffs.

Lidge was not good the last month of the season, he just got the outs when he needed them even though he made every game a nail-biter. In the playoffs he has just plain sucked and not gotten the outs when it really counts. There was a lot of talk about him being the new Mariano Rivera ... I think not.

And looks like my hunch of a 0:1 final score may come true.

Still a fantastic season though. I take this kind of agony over just giving up after 15-30 start or missing the playoff by 1 game or losing to Cardinals in 7 games any time of the day.
