thank you!!! now why couldn't andy have just gotten out and not cleared the runner off 3rd. oh well, we're on the board. now all we have to do is pitch a shutout.
I guess they discovered that Burke doesn't like to hit stuff that bends... hopefully they'll forget soon enough.
with everett who didnt see it coming..he always presses when it comes to runners in scoring position. very bad ab.
He's always been using the advice that Jeff Kent gave him, to be ultra agressive in that situation... the problem is, that approach doesn't work very well in the 8 hole (which is why Garner prefers Brad there, but just can't afford that with our lineup right now).
why don't we just play super shallow on the pest? he has no power and he chokes up, how far is he realistically gonna hit it?
Trust me... the guy can nail it hard... especially when he sees the outfield in. I've seen him win 3 games for the Cards this year based on that sort of hit alone (either HR's, or balls way over the OF'ers heads).
andy's eventually gonna get killed here from his failure to do anything to people he gets 2 strikes on. he can't seem to get anybody to swing and miss and eventually they punch it somewhere. and now here comes pujols with men on again.
