Like I stated before, the Stros' have already seen Carpenter and will be able to light him up...There is no denying history... Astros: 5 Fags: 2
They'd never kill him, waking up next to and having to kiss Barb is bad enough. (Yes, I know I am a Bush fan)
How can '85 be an exception? The Central Division came about in '95, and the Cards won it in '95 (and in '96). Except for the 2003 anomaly, it's either been Houston or StL. The Cards went to the Series in '82 and '87 as well as in '85, btw. Great, great franchise. It will truly be an honor to send them home tonight. Astros 6 Cards 2 To quote the eloquent poster above, "set your VCR; you'll see history tonight".
Astros - 4 Cardinals - 3 it makes me nervous just thinking about this game. i'll tell you all straight up...i will weep like a child if the astros win the NL.
Stros win it, 4-1...Pettite Wheeler Lidge and i'm with ya madmax. already realized that would happen if we win it--if it's close, all it will take is one shot of bags and/or bidge celebrating
dude, i think about it and i start choking up. my connection with the 'stros runs through my grandparents on my mom's side...who have passed away. they were life-long Houstonians, and really felt like Houston hit the map when it got MLB. we went on a trip with them one time to colorado. they left one night to go out driving...when we asked where they went later, they said they went high up on a mountain so they could pick up the Astros on AM radio. what's odd is my grandfather worked with the railroad and was a HUGE train enthusiast. he would have LOVED MMP with the train and the station and that whole thing. combining the astros and the train station?? he would have gone nuts. wish he could see it. maybe he can. i'm certain i'll be making a trip to the cemetary tomorrow if they win. i realize how weird that sounds. on the other hand...my son. who i've freaking brainwashed. who loves the 'stros. yesterday i told him he could stay up late tonight to watch to see if they win. then i got a call from a friend offering me an extra ticket. i had to turn it down. i can't imagine watching this game without my son...and i can't imagine him at home watching this game without his dad. and my father...who is out of town. man, i wish he were here so he could come over and watch the game with us, tonight. so many memories of the 'stros with him growing up. we've been waiting for this for so long.
I am going to the game tonight. I am going to to Live around 3:30, soak up all the atmosphere and take pictures. Should be a fun, fun night.
Ditto...cried like a baby when the Rocks won their first....will shed a few tonight if the Stros do it, but will BALL if they win the WS. DD
Kind of like Mad Max for me...Native Houstonian...Grandparents always had season tickets from the time the dome opened. Our tickets were behind the visitors dugout. In fact, one of my first memories of a game is of my Grandfather heckling Lasorda as a kiddo. My Mom was a lifelong fan of almost anything Houston. They have all passed away, but I have been carrying around their dreams and hopes for awhile now,and when it comes to sports, this is the one they would want most.Houston Astros - World Series Champs.Lets do it guys.
Can I give a play-by-play of me vomiting from my stomach turning so much and my legs feeling hollow and my tongue being dried out and my eyes hurting and my ears hearing ringing sounds and my fingers aching and my neck all tensed up, my knuckles won't pop, my sinuses are clogging up, my airduct is shrinking, my lungs can't fill up deep enough, I'm worrying about heart and why it's beating so fast, why my head is pounding, and why my urine feels like fire.... Can I give a P-B-P of that? I NEED THE ASTROS TO GO TO THE FREAKING SERIES!!!! Wow..that felt a little better....
