If that's the case, definitely go with the Japanese PS2. They have the latest model with the power supply built into the tiny system - no more power brick ! I really wanted a Japanese model but found a killer deal on a PS2 last Christmas. I think it was $60 BNIB White Sing Star bundle.

I tried a searching a couple of places and couldn't find Berserk for PS2. If you can find it w/o an exuberant price, let me know.

Really now? Which model number is that? I wanna get the right one. I figured on buying one from here:
    http://www.play-asia.com/paOS-14-71-o-49-en.html

Is there somewhere I could get a significantly better price?

The same site appears to have Hokuto No Ken and Tobal 2, but you're right... they're out of stock on Berserk. I assume I'd end up just paying a premium for it on eBay.

Yup, that's the one. The 90,000- series which were released a few months ago in Japan. i was a little disappointed my sing star bundle wasn't a model 90,000.

Unfortunately, I don't think you can find them cheaper. POssibly because of the dollar/yen rate. Play-Asia is a really good site. I've purchased a few things from them in the past and had no issues. You can search online and find $5-$10 off coupons or go ahead with a U.S. $99 ps2 (on sale at target) and free loader.

    *oops - 90,000 not 9,000
