    pix or gtfo. :p

About time you went back to work Dak, 50,000 posts in a year at your various message boards is a clear sign you needed to go back to work. ;)

Cool. I guess I'll keep a closer eye on the development then.

Not a surprise, but Insomniac announced a new Ratchet & Clank game for the Fall (R&C: A Crack in Time).

Also, Kojima's keynote has already started. Here's one liveblog:

I was, got bored, went back to work for a friend who is the CFO at Image Metrics, also want to make games, so, will get back in that soon enough.

Retirement was cool for a while...actually, no it sucked...total boredom....back in the saddle.

    Had dinner tonight with:

Ric Neal - Ex Madden Producer
Chris Roberts - Wing Commander founder

and many others, we told stories and laughed our arse off....going to bed now.

    Cry Engine 3 HD video:
    http://www.gamersyde.com/news_7651_en.html
I think there is more to this than the last one. Some screens there too. Some are great (as good as CE2), but others...um...yeah. Oh well, always good to have another multiplatform engine, especially since I'm somewhat sick of UE3. BTW, I think IGN (and probably others) have some details on the engine itself, but I don't know if anyone here is all that interested in the technical aspects of it.

From one engine to another...Project Offset (IT LIVES!):
    <object width="480" height="295"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/gxr_4sZ7w7k&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/gxr_4sZ7w7k&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="295"></embed></object>
    http://www.projectoffset.com/
(HD download at the website, plus other vids/screens...but mostly old)

    Kojima's keynote (video):
    http://g4tv.com/thepile/videos/37448/GDC-2009-Keynote-Hideo-Kojima.html
BTW, if you didn't follow the liveblogs from yesterday, he sort of hints that he will be making a new MGS game...and a picture of Raiden is on the slide. Maybe this will be the last MGS game by Kojima. FWIW, Kojima said he will announce one of his 2 projects at E3 IIRC.

The making of The Last Remnant:
    http://www.gamasutra.com/php-bin/news_index.php?story=22918
Kind of interesting since it shows how Square-Enix tried to use UE3. Of course, one major note is that the developers didn't respond about a PS3 version (which was supposed to have been released by now). Guess they still haven't figured out multiplatform development...and/or just decided Last Remnant is too big of a failure to bother releasing on PS3.

    Square-Enix making an action game.
    http://www.1up.com/do/newsStory?cId=3173449

    New Prototype trailer:
    <object classid="clsid:d27cdb6e-ae6d-11cf-96b8-444553540000" codebase="http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=8,0,0,0" id="gtembed" width="480" height="392"> <param name="allowScriptAccess" value="sameDomain" /> <param name="allowFullScreen" value="true" /> <param name="movie" value="http://www.gametrailers.com/remote_wrap.php?mid=47311"/> <param name="quality" value="high" /> <embed src="http://www.gametrailers.com/remote_wrap.php?mid=47311" swLiveConnect="true" name="gtembed" align="middle" allowScriptAccess="sameDomain" allowFullScreen="true" quality="high" pluginspage="http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="480" height="392"></embed> </object>

Probably a lot of interviews, previews, new media, etc., at the usual sites, but I haven't kept up with them.

Extra notes (things I read about, but I'm too lazy to find the sources for):
GoW 3 will run at 60 FPS with some slowdown (but never <30 FPS).
The Agency and DC Universe Online are slated for release in 2010.
I think it is now official that Square-Enix will take over Eidos.
Noby Noby Boy will be ported to the iPhone.
Fable 2 DLC hitting soon (weeks, not months). Might hint at what they want to do for their next project (probably Fable 3, at least in this context).

I'm sure I missed a lot of stuff, but I think this is a decent update.

Also, remember that GTTV will have some exclusive video tonight:
The new R&C game is the unannounced game.

You got anything on the new "Two Worlds". Seems like that has some potential as a sequel...

I haven't seen anything. Last update I knew about was some screens from a while back (late 2008?).

Saw the new Epic stuff today in an engine demo....HOLY CRAP.......it was amazing.

You can set entire scenes in a premier style of setting and it flat our rocks....and that was their level builder.

My next company, I am going Unreal.....just beautiful.

Oh right...I forgot about a UE3 video that was released. Maybe not what you were shown, but it showed some cool stuff:
    <object width="480" height="295"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/U6Z5JgAXWNs&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/U6Z5JgAXWNs&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="295"></embed></object>

Some early footage for some major games:
    Uncharted 2:
    <object width="480" height="295"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/fPRN8_bRCXA&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/fPRN8_bRCXA&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="295"></embed></object>
Crappy quality (but still wow). Supposed to be a HQ/HD version on this one site, but it is going really slow (3 KB/s for me, file is 150MB+). Might add a link later if I can find a mirror.

    Mass Effect 2:
    <div style="width:500px; text-align:center"><embed type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="500" height="319" src="http://gamevideos.1up.com/swf/gamevideos12.swf?embedded=1&amp;fullscreen=1&amp;autoplay=0&amp;src=http://gamevideos.1up.com/do/videoListXML%3Fid%3D24193%26adPlay%3Dtrue" align="middle"></embed><a href="http://gamevideos.1up.com/video/id/24193" target="_blank">Mass Effect 2 'GDC 2009 Cut-Scene' clip</a></div>
    <div style="width:500px; text-align:center"><embed type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="500" height="319" src="http://gamevideos.1up.com/swf/gamevideos12.swf?embedded=1&amp;fullscreen=1&amp;autoplay=0&amp;src=http://gamevideos.1up.com/do/videoListXML%3Fid%3D24194%26adPlay%3Dtrue" align="middle"></embed><a href="http://gamevideos.1up.com/video/id/24194" target="_blank">Mass Effect 2 'GDC 2009 Combat' gameplay clip</a></div>

Also, Project Offset site has been updated. Now includes a technology page with lots of videos, screens, info, etc., about the engine. Of course, it is for developers, so don't expect much unless you're into this kind of stuff.

How's that new Batman game looking? Doesn't it use the Unreal Engine? I've heard this may be the first great Batman game. It's got Kevin Conroy and Hamil's voices playing their respective roles in Batman the animated series

    Right.

SCEA took down the Youtube video of Uncharted, but I think there are others up now. Even better, a mirror for downloable version I was talking about:
    http://www.megaupload.com/?d=4HKKYSLK
Apparently this build is from December.

Lots of good stuff on GTTV. Wasn't much about ME2 IMO, but Dragon Age is looking really good. Also, R&C teaser was actually pretty good (that is how you should do a teaser...*glares at Infinity Ward*):
    <object classid="clsid:d27cdb6e-ae6d-11cf-96b8-444553540000" codebase="http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=8,0,0,0" id="gtembed" width="480" height="392"> <param name="allowScriptAccess" value="sameDomain" /> <param name="allowFullScreen" value="true" /> <param name="movie" value="http://www.gametrailers.com/remote_wrap.php?mid=47275"/> <param name="quality" value="high" /> <embed src="http://www.gametrailers.com/remote_wrap.php?mid=47275" swLiveConnect="true" name="gtembed" align="middle" allowScriptAccess="sameDomain" allowFullScreen="true" quality="high" pluginspage="http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="480" height="392"></embed> </object>
On a side note, Insomniac strongly considered calling this game R&C: Clock Blockers instead.

Yes, it is using UE3. I haven't seen much besides screens, so I can't say much about the quality of the game. I think EA dropped it...and looking at the quality of GI Joe (which they kept)...that might not be a good sign (of course, they may have dropped it for reasons other than quality).
