Even Mavs fans on their bbs admit this is the worst officiating they ever see for years, though it is on their favor, period.
i've seen many many instances when they redo bad tosses during a jumpball. they don't want to try this during a playoff game? deke had no shot at either of those jumpballs, and the first one was particularly sad. he couldn't have gotten to that even stackhouse wasn't there. the refs played too big of a hand in controlling the game and ultimately in the decision. that's not their job. how hard is it to let the players play and call fouls WHEN YOU F@#KING SEE IT! nba referees consider themselves above the game and along with bullsh!t like protecting and catering to star players it makes it hard to watch. after seeing stern's huge fine it makes me believe even more how shady this league is. the league and it's refs are pissing all over the game.
I know they do this for the league office in the NFL...and I feel like I've heard about it in the NBA, as well... I would love it if someone could splice together all the crappy calls from this series and send the video to the NBA and MORE IMPORTANTLY, major news networks. Words & letters mean something, but if a video is out there that could somehow get airplay to expose how poor the officiating truly is, maybe, just maybe some changes would be made. I don't know what the consequences from the NBA would be if people like TNT, NBC, CBS, ABC/ESPN played evidence that exposed this crap (maybe KellyDwyer can provide insight into that). If there are enough of those game changing calls put out plain to see, they have to react somehow, right? And for the record, I'm disgusted by the officiating, but I'm also disappointed in what I saw out of my team tonight.
Cuban's ranting is having a rippling effect throughout the league. Duncan was just called for a moving screen up in Denver. Same bologna call that they haven't called the whole year but now they are gonna call it.
Les Alexander should start ranting about all the defensive 3 second violations that are never called because Yao's defender is just hanging out in the paint. He oughta rant about it until the officials get sick of it.
Referees haven't consistently called moving screens in ages. The Pacers whole offense used to be Reggie Miller coming off illegal screens. The Suns are doing the same thing this year.
I just sent in my complaint to the NBA. The Houston Rockets and Dallas Mavericks series has turned out to be the most entertaining series in the first round so far. But in the last few games, the refs seemed to have turned on "their game", and have ruined the game for me. My main complaint is, after Jeff Van Gundy was fined the $100,000 for his comments last weekend, Stern himself was in attendance at AACenter to watch the game in dallas. So he was there, in person, to see the refs hand the game to Dallas with under a minute to go. Finley was completely out of bounds (2 feet) and yet he was allowed to poke the ball away from another player which turned into 2pts for Dallas. The product value of the NBA is deminishing. I don't know if I will ever spend another penny on any NBA product if this keeps up. I understand when refs miss calls here and there. But at this rate, and as blatent as some of the calls were tonight. I am very disapointed. ----regards
God damn! When STEVE KERR supports the Rockets then it really was a terrible call. Actually, Kerr is the ultimate hyprocrite; he repeatedly talked about how you can't cross the comissioner and how you can't say what VG did about the refs...basically saying he deserved it... ...yet he and Marv the Perv blatantly CALLED OUT the refs on NATIONAL TELEVISION. Kerr: "Finley was clearly out of bounds." --- Kerr: "That was not a foul." Personally I feel 60% of the "whining" on this board about the refs is ridiculous since it's arguing the same bull**** that every other fan of every other team disputes, but this game, this 4th quarter. Wow, what crap. I'm still amazed Houston had a chance to win this. If only McGrady hit that first free throw he could've just DUNKED in the second. You know it's a bad game when YAO gets pissed (And of course he almost got a T). This is off topic, but I always felt Dallas was inferior to Houston, but wasn't going to take much pride in H-town since, personally, I can't say it's a fantastic city, but dude, I now HATE Dallas. Seriously, F*** Dallas. At least now we know Houston won't lose game 6. I EXPECT a 10-15 point margin of victory. The fans will let the stinkin' refs feel it: 'REFS YOU SUCK! REFS YOU SUCK! REFS YOU SUCK! ' And finally, I'm quite frightened by how the NBA has handled this situation in such a non-democratic way. This is truly a dictatorship. Well, the NBA already hates Riley...might as well hate Van Gundy.
"Yao and (Dallas center Erick) Dampier both have been struggling with fouls," he said. "It hasn't been one-sided at all. Damp seems to start off with two fouls a quarter. Dampier's been in foul trouble, but we're not going to complain about any fouls because it's a tough job in the playoffs for anybody. We'd rather just focus on what we're doing." Is Avery Johnson smoking by saying that? I guess he really bought the idea that Dampier is the second best center in the leagure. Every of Dampier's foul is legitimate, not even mentioning that he got way some of the Yao mugging.
someone who is going to game 6 needs to blow up the picture in Baqui's post with the line "If Cuban says it's in, it's in." written under it. and LOL on the "Classified: I Love Mavs" adeelsiddiqui. and avery's comments are like saying shaq had two fouls, but dammit so did jason collins. yeah, b/c collins is hacking the hell out of shaq all day. and collins is a chump while shaq is one of the heat's most important players. Peudlfor's post pretty much sums up my feelings at this point. i will take great delight in watching whoever eliminates the mavs if they end up beating us. in fact, i think i may actually root for the spurs or heat over the mavs if they meet. and if you need an alibi on burning down the AA center, i'm there for you. and reading mavs fans on hornfans b**** about the injustices against their team makes me hate all mavs fans at this point.
