The ref just blew a hole in the definition of insanity... same thing over and over = same result ... oh wait
I reviewed the video. Harden does indeed grab the ball at with 2 hand as he is lunging to the left. grabs ball with 2 hands Big left side step with left foot first then right foot follows goes for shot immediately after both feet touch the floor. My thing is, why are they looking for that call? Refs were told to watch harden carefully and not let him “ abuse the rules” why not call it all season !!! Why wait till playoffs to enforce? I swear the do that allll the fckn time. With warriors it was the “ landing in shooters space” . Called it all year, swallowed whistle in playoffs. So of course harden gets mad when they don’t officiate harden the same as regular season and it’s a fckn shame.
The calls are a bit one sided. You can't TOUCH OKC while EG drives and is knocked to the floor without anything. It's ridiculous. But Harden's turnovers were horrendous late game. No other superstar throws those lazy passes in that scenario
not only have they not called it since like 2017, half the good scorers in the league have adopted the stepback and perform it to all sorts of varying degrees of traveling or not traveling, some of which even make shaqtin' a foul when the shooter really gets crazy with extra steps. to call it the only time it's been called on anyone all season can't be explained by some logical interpretation of the play.
always among you ok, dont care about travel, i think it was right call anyway this loss on MDA basically
i wonder, if you challenge it and win, i assume you just get the ball out of bounds because they can't assume you would have still made it once the whistle blew. assuming that's how it works, then it's probably not worth the challenge because you just start the possession from that point, which isn't worth much. now if the 3 somehow counted, they should definitely have challenged.
If Harden's shot was a travel so was Luka's game winner GAAAAAAASSSSSSSPPPP!!!!! "how dare you talk down on the great white hope that is Luka" sigh.
Clearly wasn't a travel, I have no idea why they called that. I remember in like '14-'15 when he first starting using that move they called travel a couple of times just because they hadn't seen it before and it looked a little weird. But since then, they have never called that move a travel and also since then dozens of other NBA players have used that move (without it being called a travel). It's very frustrating that they would randomly call it a travel again for unknown reasons.
There are instances where I think Harden travels with his stepback but this one was a simple sidestep, definitely not a travel there. I was completely shocked they called this one.
mike used the challenge late in the game when gallo kneed Eric Gordon in the torso and was rewarded with 2 free throws. It was overturned and we got the ball back instead of their best free throw shooter getting free throws late in the 4th quarter
if he had used it at any point in game 3 instead of just letting it expire worthless, we probably win that game
