This wouldn't account for the jump, but I am just wondering. Does this account for US citizens employed overseas by US companies? Or just those IN the United States? Does anyone know?

    Hi Bob/baylor / pig Miller

I'll bet you my bbs signature vs. your long treasured virginity that the BLS Aug UE # doesn't jump a full point

Simple bet. Full point or greater jump in the headline UI # you get my Sig.

If less, I am allowed prima nocte on your holiest of holies.

    What say you?

Maybe a larger number of those who are employed didn't have the time to answer Gallup's call and take the survey.

    Welcome to ignore.

Looks like Sam posted in reply. Good thing it isn't anything of value and I don't need to be sad for ignoring him.

I remember in the early 2000s the Bush Administration would cook the numbers by counting service jobs like fast food as manufacturing.

And yet, the poll shows the unemployment rate rising by 0.5% since ... Friday. So unless you believe the whole country starting laying off massive numbers of people this weekend and no one noticed, you might want to wonder if something is off about the poll.

Blame the House GOP for refusing to do anything which might help our economy. They want America to suffer, because they think it will help them regain the WH.

Will there ever be a point at which full employment is bench-marked at 6.5 - 7.5%, rather than 5%?

Almost 100% certain its for US domestic jobs. Considering US citizens outside of the US won't contribute to the GDP.
