Out of work? My understanding is they're open for business today.

Yeah, even Ashley Furniture, which I believe I heard is now that nation's top furniture store, was really slow a few months ago when I was looking for furniture, and I went in about 3 different times.

The salesman at a few local places seemed very desperate as well. I'm too poor for those places though...I ended up buying the table I needed at Target and the couch at Big Lots.

yes. In fact EVERY place i went to had a bunch of salesman standing around talkin to each other right by the entrance. im sure they took turns taking customers when they walked in. i spent almost and hour and half at rooms to go (where i bought my stuff) and the same salesmen were there standing, talking, doing nothing when i walked out. this was on a satruday around 1 or 2 when im assuming should be a busy time.

im not implying that mac burned his own wharehouse down, but if for some reason there was time someone wanted to collect insurance, now might be the time...especiallly when you just opened a new store ;)

Mack didn't set his wharehouse on fire. That place is his life. He was very emotional last night while being interviewed.

I ain't saying he did. However, emotion has nothing to do with it. Ex-husbands are very emotional when they kill their wives and kids and cry on tv. Spouses are very emotional when the commit assisted suicides, also.

It's his baby, he's gonna cry whether he set the fire or not.

or in the downturn, his cashflow has been hurting and a nice insurance check would be a good remedy.

Jim was very distraught and heartbroken whenever the cameras would interview him... I doubt he had anything to do with the fire, unless he is a really really convincing actor, academy award to say the least...
I'm pretty sure one of the employees had something to do with this..

I read that there is about 15-20 million dollars in damages.

Is his insurance actually going to pay him in the whole amount??

It's hard for me to see that he would actually risk everything that he worked so hard to get just to get a fat check.

i'm sorry, but this whole thing reeks and is disgusting.

the "news" story begins with the address of the new showroom.

they spin this ridiculous tale of a kid giving mac $211 he'd been saving for an iPod.

mac incredulously takes the money, and a photo-opp with the kid, but somehow the kid manages to get away before mac can thank him.

    really? really?

mac is going to donate the $211 to charity. very nice. the kid gave mac the money to help mac and mac decides "i don't need your money kid, but i will take the tax right-off".

how about you refuse the money in the first place? or buy the kid an ipod for his selfless act. or, wait, i got it. how about we exploit this kid for some free publicity and possibly get the "news" reporter to mention the location of our new showroom.

    disgusting.
