My cordless optical mouse is another one. I used it for about a month, but eventually went back to the good old standard ball mouse. I found I just didn't get good enough control. I also have an electric toothbrush that I used for a few weeks, but stopped.
This goes back a few years, but I would have to say the Pioneer laser disc player I bought, along with a bunch of laser discs. Sitting comfortably in a box in my grandmother's house. Ah, the future of technology...
A radio scanner. It lets you listen to almost any radio traffic around you, including airport, fire, ambulance, police, CBs, cordless phones, and weather stations. Also picks up analog cell phone calls, from what I hear. I got it when the CART races came through Houston, and listened to the exchanges between drivers and pit crews. I also picked up some funny "phone-sex" conversations between couples. For a week there whenever I saw a woman around my complex I wondered if she was the one on the radio.
I have a Palm (the new Sony Clie SL10) and it's changing the way I work and live...it rocks. I also have an ab wheel - not one of those wussy types that help you. It really does work...but good form and slow reps are the trick. I never used my ankle weights much though - they were too painful. Our George Foreman is getting less use than it used to - it's kind of a pain to clean.
The Epi-Lady. This nifty little electric device had rotating coils that ripped hair out by the root at a rate of several hairs per second. The company had the nerve to claim that it was "virtually pain free." Needless to say, it was just about the most painful experience of my life.
i was wondering if anyone was going to mention a laser disc player. they became obsolete faster than any other gadget I can think of.
I forgot all about my Rio mp3 player. It's ok but I just can't get the volumn loud enough for my tastes (no, not ear bleeding loud). I also have an Oral B cordless toothbrush sitting around...I need to bring that baby back out. os
OF COURSE!!! I totally forgot about mine too! I bought it as an alternative to the radio for my running... but its the biggest piece of **** i've ever purchased... Its almost impossible to d/l mp3s onto... you have to start your d/l process within at 0.5 second timespan... if you do it before or after that span, the software crashes... the mp3 player just dies often... in the middle of a song, it will just crap out and you have to actually take the battery out and put it back in to get the device powered on again... definetely not conducive to running... I HATE THAT THING!!!!!!!!!! biggest waste of $200 ever!
I bought a condom when I was 13. Then I realized that you can't get anyone pregnant while masturbating, so it took me a couple more years before I ever used that infernal gadget. pro-birth control pills.
I bought this nice set of roller lifters for my stang, along with a new set of pushrods...I won't use them until I have the time to lift up my engine and change the oil pump...see signature below.
Our school district bought mass amounts of laserdisc players when I was in Second grade (about 8 years ago) and I have used it in a class about twice. Once in third grade, once in fifth grade. What a horrible waste of millions.
My $200 I-Cybie electronic dog. I played with him for the first week, and he's sat in his box for the past 8 months.
