"To rid the world of Osama bin Laden, Anwar al-Awlaki and Moammar Qaddafi within six months: if Obama were a Republican, he'd be on Mount Rushmore by now."

Indeed. I'm sure Fox News and their endless talking heads will find a way to belittle it.

I wonder if anyone remembers who Mubarak is?

His people sure got democracy now. Democrats. Republican. Dictators. Generals. People will be all happy go cheer in the streets and tomorrow realize their life hasn't really changed.

Nothing changes overnight, and perhaps it won't change for the better even in the medium/long term. But's it's a start and an opportunity. Lybians decided they don't want to live under Gaddafi anymore.

U.S. Energy Information Administration's website today had an article about return of Libyan natural gas exports to Italy that started Oct. 13. Coincidence?

Jesus Christ. It is like you all are mad that the Libyans killed Gaddafi because Obama is president.

They killed Gaddafi, not the Dalai Lama.

And it will benefit Obama politically, and it will harm Republicans and conservatives if they continue to b**** and moan.

It takes some seriously inventive mind-bending to give Obama credit for this.

In a lengthy press briefing after President Obama heralded Qaddafi's death and publicly congratulated the Libyan people for winning their revolution, White House spokesman Jay Carney was asked whether the President felt validated by Qaddafi's killing and the conclusion of the Libyan civil war.

"Well, I think I've made clear that we believe that the President made the right decisions to work with our allies, to work with NATO, to work with the United Nations, not to do something on the cheap but because it was the right policy answer to the situation that presented itself, taking a long-term view about what outcome do you want in Libya," Carney said.

Did you leave out the "killed millions of their own people" bit?

Or the "They were both killed by their own citizens" bit?

    Neither killed millions.

These days its okay to kill your enemies with a preemptive strike, regardless if they are your own citizens.

Right, better they "kill millions of not-their-own-people", and there were no outside influences involved in either case, obviously. Not saying that Iranian leadership wants to do the samething, but they do. So are they next?
