jwun, I have read that the brakes are sensitive, but I don't feel that at all. I've been driving a BMW 328i for 3 years, so maybe they're similar, I don't know. I have the Premium package, sunroof, xenon lamps, nav system, wood trim from Austin Infiniti. You need to take a road trip
Cohen, Congrats! I hope you have fun with it, but most of all, hopefully it'll be reliable, too. I want one.
Cohen, Congrats! Did you get the 4-door or the coupe? One of my friends is looking at the coupe, but I didn't think it was out yet. I actually am in the market for a new car and am considering the Infiniti Q45. I bought a Lexus Coupe SC400 5 years ago and have driven over 100,000 miles on it with NO problem, they even still give me free oil changes at the dealership. What type of post-purchase service does Infiniti provide. BMW gives all free service for two years including brakes, oil etc. Options: Infiniti Q45 ( that honey colored wood and back camera are sweet Lexus SC430 ( how boring, the same car new model) Porsche 911 ( one or two years old used, reliability issues) Mercedes CLK 430 (New Model coming out next year though) Mercedes E-430 ( 2003 Body Style almost out) BMW 5-Series ( 2003 Body style almost out) Comments Suggestions anyone????
Cohen, you got all the goodies. Good thing you're in Austin, I still have the coolest G35 in my neighborhood
The coupe will be out in the October/November timeframe. It'll have about 10-15 extra HP. As for the Q45... ewwww. I don't like the exterior of the Q45, but the interior is sweet. I'd buy a Lexus before I bought the Q45. But hey, different strokes for different folks.
DoD, Thanks! I'm quite pleased. The car seems fairly solid, but I imagine there will be some kinks to work out of version 1 (like soft metal on the trunk where you would place your hand...OOPS!). Maybe you can hurry and drive your car into the ground and get the improved, 2004 model?
F. D. Khan, Thanks to you also! I got the 4-door,. We really wanted the roominess of the sedan to carry 3 adults (the back seats recline w/ the Premium package) and the baby comfortably. The only car I can speak to out of the ones you are looking at is the 5-series. I love the way beemers drive, but it is at a high cost, and I don't mean just $. The 5-series has no more legroom or headroom than the 3-series, and the 3-series is constrictive for the class. If that doesn't mean much, the 5 is a great car.
I don't really like the back of the Q45, its far from my first choice, but the Gatling Gun front lights are mean, and the car can DRIVE and Handle very well. The interior is far superior and the features are amazing. The rear view camera, the honey colored wood interior, the far superior handling and the comfort level! Of course the 911 or SC430 are first options!
FD, Forgot to tell you that I whined about the additional BMW service, so the dealer gave me a letter that they will cover all oil changes, and will pick-up my car from my home and leave a loaner car for 3 years for all warranteed work and oil changes.
jwun, How's the sports package? The standard suspension seems pretty good. I liked the aero package also, but the black looked great with or without it (I probably won't benefit much from the decreased drag of .01 ) I have the only G35 in my neighborhood, but maybe not for long...my neighbors are now considering one.
Honestly Cohen, I don't notice any real difference in ride compared to the car I test drove. I feel like I basically paid for the 5 spoke rims and higher performance tires (which isn't a bad thing because it wasn't too pricey). Then again, I haven't had a chance to REALLY drive this thing. As for the Aero pkg, it was already installed so I didn't see it w/o. But I agree with ya, it would look good with or without. I don't think you're missing out on much if you didn't get these packages, though I think they were a good value. BTW, The standard stereo sucks, be glad you got the Premium pkg, be very glad
