    Question about G-mail...I know their philosophy is that you never delete mail. They say since you have such a large storage space it is unnecessary...but what if you fill it up? With enough large attachments it really isn't that unfeasible... What happens then? Do they start deleting the oldest e-mails one at a time or do they allow you to exceed your allotted inbox space?

    Same as any other mail server. They refuse incoming mail until there is sufficient storage space to store the mail.

    Since most other mail will only allow you to send a few MB's, you will have to recieve thousands of e-mails before you come to that. At which point, most of the mail will become useless anyway, so you can delete it.
