G League to experiment with single foul shot

Think about this.....*1 FT for 3pts*. That will be the MOST coveted shot in the league. If you don't like players HUNTING for fouls now....just wait until you see what this rule does.

And unguarded FT for 2pts and 3pts. Players will exploit this.

 

I figured if the officials didn't fall for flopping, they would shave about 15 minutes per game.

 

I just don't understand talking about making the game faster but not looking at aspects of the game that could be made faster that have nothing to do with the play. Like having another ref that is not on the court who's only job is to watch and give the right call for replays, flagrant fouls, out of bounds, etc that refs didn't see. That would cut on so much time.

 

What? This isn't going to change hunting for 3 pt fouls. Either way, you have a chance to get 3 pts. Now you only need to hit 1 FT, but a missed FT also is much more damaging. The total value of a 3 pt foul doesn't change at all.

Silver should "play test" real guns for foul shots. That'll ramp up excitement.
