Yes, because the A&M Girls Ice Hockey team is an accurate representation of the school's female population at large. ...wait a minute....A&M has a girls ice hockey team?
it's nice, but fake. who would print out all those bikinis with the Tech logo mis-matching? some left-boob, some right-boob, all not curving with the rest of the swimsuit, poor shading, the "tech" is rotated a little weird. still...
i graduated w/ an electrical engineering degree from UT a few years back. I decided engineering wasnt for me and now ill be applying for med school next summer. if youre only worried about academics and your gpa, do your first 2 years (premed pre-reqs + fresh/soph classes) at HCC (classes are much easier and cheaper). take your mcat. then transfer to UH (easier and cheaper than UT or A&M). if youre set on a 4 year university, as far as reputation wise, UT is higher overall. but A&M provides a great education also. when applying to med school, undergrad doesnt really matter unless you went to an ivy league school. you have to focus on your GPA, MCAT, volunteer, and rec letters/essay. I must STRONGLY recommend majoring in engineering. that way, if you decide med school isnt for you, youll have a solid job to fall back on. also, i work in a research lab right now and if you have a bio degree and you dont make it into med school, youre royally screwed! you have to jump through a lot of hoops to become a physician so i hope this advice helps out. good luck and dont be in a rush.
When I was in law school at UH in the late 1990s, we had a good many A&M grads in the class. In fact, with my GPA, I was told that had I come from a lesser institution, I probably wouldn't have gotten in to law school there. This was, of course, at a time when UH law was still in the top tier nationally.
No offense, but UH Law School has never been a top tier law school, ever. Neither has any school in Texas for that matter (I think UT can claim a top 25-30 ranking at times, but that's it). The top tier of law schools IMO is about 14-20 schools long, and UH is not one and has never been one. This sounds like a dick opinion, but I think it is very well suppported.
Wrong. Law schools have always been ranked in 5 tiers of 50 schools per tier. UH when I was there came in at about #40. UT Law routinely came in somewhere between 25 and 35.
Med schools value gpa alot. It is VERY hard to have a gpa close to 4.0 in a major engineering program like UT/A&M. if i was going to med school for sure, I would choose a major where you can really ball out your gpa
That's an interesting stat, I'd like to see the spin on it. I don't understand the statement about sending Pre-Law people to medical or dental school... those numbers could be different also because UT does not have a Pre-Vet school. Are they counting the Pre-Vet students as medical students? Besides the point, the differential wouldn't be that large. I'm saying the prestige is at UT, especially when it comes to UT's presence at UT-Houston in the Medical Center, and its high regard at Baylor School of Medicine. Ask around in the Med Center - who's the better school to attend? (best to ask non-UT or non-A&M grads.)
