Similar to Willis, I want to see it against higher level competition. I like the size and arm. Still think I’d like Willis or Corral over him.
I don’t think comp is critical as it use to be in previous years. Big Ben, Flaco, Dereck Carr, Josh Allen to name a few all came from smaller schools and I would say they have and some are still doing well. Hell even Trey got drafted 3rd in this year draft, I think he will be a pretty good QB in the NFL. Like you mentioned it’s really on what you like and who you think will transition better to the NFL.
Fresno State is in a bigger more competitive conference than Liberty. The others I agree completely about competition, but they are also prototype QB size. Willis and Corral are similar type prospects. I’ll take the one with the better arm and has done it in the SEC over the one that can run a little bit better. Ideally neither is the choice, and there’s an Andrew Luck/Trevor Lawrence type prospect.
Willis is a better runner than Corral. If for no other reason than he is a lot stronger and harder to take down. Corral is a good runner and very mobile. He can throw on the run well too. So he is a positive, just not like Willis. Both have strong enough arms, although I like Corral's accuracy and throws across the field better. I do think Corral's deep ball is a little over rated though. I don't think either has an arm like Aaron Rodgers or Mahomes, but both are good enough. Corral has a great offensive coach designing plays for him and Willis is playing lesser competition. I don't know at this point that I have a strong opinion, but Corral has impressed.... but he reminds me of Jay Cutler.
I can see some similarities with Rodgers, and he does have a very strong throwing game across the field, especially when he is on the move or stepping up in the pocket. Truth be told, physically Rodgers and Cutler were very similar. It will come down to what is between his ears.
It is a concern, but the league is protecting QB's. We have some of these guys in their late 30's and 40's still going..
DeShaun Watson has no future on the Houston Texans. The McNair family isn't going to change and the political climate isn't going to change... and Watson isn't suddenly going to want to remain a Houston Texan. He is a disgrace, a serial sexual assault predator and will go elsewhere to try and get his career fixed.
Why and I like Corral. Willis is inaccurate and plays against low level competition. How is Willis when it comes to reading defenses? I really hope they run with Mills next yr and dont draft a QB until 2023. From what I've seen Mills is better than any QB in the 2022 draft. Really he's also looked better than any QB in the 2021 draft as well.
I don't want any of them. Draft from auction stronger class next season and go defense this year. Trade down if someone wants one of these guys
I agree, but what if he is not convicted, says he has been born again and is willing to go into rehabilitation and is willing to stay in Houston. What would Cal, Easterby, and Casserly do? My guess is that under those circumstances they would keep him. Forgiveness is a tenant of the Christian faith.
A couple weeks ago, I posted asking when we start talking about Kenny Pickett. On SI's website someone wrote a "Hot Take Tuesday" calling him the QB1 of the draft. He may start to get some Heisman buzz soon, and he really might start creeping into top level QB convos.
He’s always had the physical tools. Can run, tough, good arm. This is first year he’s put up numbers. Didn’t realize how good he was doing this year. Holy cow
