I agree, I'm guessing he was best player available but if he doesn't develop a 3-pt shot
like Kenyon.....he will be nurtured to turn pick #24 into an earlier 1st rd pick? or multiple
1st rd picks? 76ers were lucky to get back a 1st rd pick for Fultz but it was a later 1st rd pk...
not #1 pick in the draft 1st rd pick.

Will Green be mad his buddy (Josh) was/will be flipped for assets?

After the draft I said the Knicks did well in the draft. I was surprised the experts
crapped on their selections. Miles McBride, Grimes, Jericho Simms, ?Rokas Jabawaki?

I like hearing how McBride wore his jersey to a restaurant after a game in Vegas. Crazy

I don’t see the Reggie Miller comparison but if Jalen Green reaches that level of star we should all be extremely happy.

I mentioned in another thread that J Christopher looks like a graduate of the John Wall School for Point Guards. Tunnel vision and poor finisher at the rim. In last night's game he had back to back possessions where he went one on three in the paint. Both possessions ending in a turnover. Did not watch much of the second half, but he repeated that stunt at least once more.

As the roster is presently constructed he is at best the #6 guard. Wall, Porter Jr, Green should get bulk of minutes. Gordon for instant offense ( fingers crossed ) and Augustin the vet to settle things down. Would prefer the next in line to be K Thomas.

Put JC with the Vipers and give him the keys to run the offense. Hopefully, by midseason the roster is trimmed. Fortunately, he shows great effort on defensive end.

So half a season in the G so he can work on his PG skills. Then see what you have.

Indeed, though he’s overall playing solid D both on ball and with rotations. Also grabbed a couple of boards in traffic and hit a couple of catch and shoot 3s and made a few opportunistic moves to score at the basket.

JayGup has substantially more potential scoring off the dribble but Grimes’ basketball IQ might be roughly 100 times higher right now (of course being two years older will do that).

I still think Grimes will stick around in the league for a while if he can hit catch and shoots 3s (and I think he will).

Grimes with 28 including the dagger 3.

Wish we could do this draft pick over.

Grimes gonna be a player. But Christopher has better upside and fits the timeline better. Go Coogs.

Grimes is way better than J Christopher right now. Grimes is a great shooter and can play good defense.

    Sad we didn't get Grimes

But Christopher is a great player.
A great defender with athleticism & decent 3 point shooting.

I think he's an off the ball scorer though(not a PG). Hoping he can defend SFs.
Because Green has most the SG mins on lock for the next 8 years.

I dont. We got KPJ to play pg. JC can play sf he is a big guard with a big body. He fits this team better as an active defender, run n gun finisher and hopefully a 3 pt spacer. Grimes aint hitting no daggers on this team, he will be cheering on the bench watching Wall and KPJ.
