Which of these coaches will be in the Rocket's future? http://www.nba.com/mavericks/news/staff_directory_010216.html Assistant Coaches Mario Elie, Terry Stotts, Dwane Casey, Tom *Clutch crew - Scottie Brooks picture is missing http://www.clutchfans.net/players/scott_brooks/ http://newsok.com/scott-brooks-goes-from-blue-collar-to-thunder-blue/article/3325598 "He had that quality of determination and putting it all out on the court that I just loved as a coach,” said Rudy Tomjanovich, who coached Brooks during Houston’s 1994 NBA championship season. "I think he’ll have that same kind of work ethic with his job.” http://www.mysanantonio.com/sports/spurs/38763852.html Sam Cassell, Celtics Cassell already is a bench coach for the Celtics because he rarely plays. He finished second in a preseason GM poll about players best suited to be head coaches (behind Eric Snow, now retired), so actual NBA experts think he is on a coaching-career path. His upbeat personality and sense of humor would serve him well.
I've always wished Mario Elie was part of the rockets future..keep him as an assistant then give him the job down the road...who knows maybe one day? Chilcutt
He's had every job in the nba except head coach, think about it bench player, starter, commentator, assistant coach
i don't see adelman leaving any time soon. but if he does, i cast my vote to mario. knowing les though, he's always like a brand name coach. pat riley comes to mind.
That's not going to happen if Morey is here. Pat Riley likes to control the entire organization. I don't think he'll coach, but he'll take over the president of operations and GM if he ever comes to Houston.
if the rockets decide to blow up the team, then they might look into an inexperienced coach. if they plan on winning now, they will keep the proven winner.
I was going to put a coaching thread anyways with Cassell, Mario, but I had to add Avery cause he played here too. Sorry dude. Plus, your thread is different cause you are talking about who will coach next year. mine is about the FUTURE!
So there's this point guard that played for the Rockets, considered one of the best guard coaches in the history of the game. All the stars use him for individual coaching. I think he could do a good job. Also, there's this center that played for the Rockets, had the best footwork of any big man ever. Spends most of his time overseas now, but occasionally helps out young big men who ask for help from the greatest. I think he could do a good job.
What do you want Dream to teach Yao? They are completely different type of players and use different skill set to get their job done. That's why it's stupid of the people who try to compare them.
the mental aspect of the game. which i see yao using now. dream's main advice was that he has to control the paint.
Sam Mitchell would be better than any canidate listed. Toronto gave him the shaft, after he helped bring the team up. Cassell? Are you serious. Elie? Get out of 1995.
