I remember the best sport car years was during 1993 When everybody had their own "sport car" Acura NSX Toyota Supra Nissan 300zx Mitsubishi 3000GT Mazda RX-7
Toyota MR2 was nice as well. NSX was kind of out of the price range wasn't it? The real Japanese sport cars, not a bunch of kids fixing up slow Hondas! Eclipse maybe?
1991 BMW 840. I used to dream of having one when I graduated high school in 90. Bought one 2 yrs ago with 40k miles on it. My daughter is turning 18 and is crazy about it. I'm thinking of giving it to her as a birthday gift. I might drive it to SFA and give it to her. Its a great vehicle and a looker because its unique. As I get older,I am kinda into buying cars I couldn't afford in college that are uniqu or classic. A 88 slant nose 911 or Lotus Turbo Espirit would be classic.
I loved the 840, definitely a classic. Porsche has so many models that would qualify. Their vehicles from 20-30 years ago still look fresh and drive great.
I did not realize how many models BMW has that would qualify, but another one I loved was the Z8 roadster, which is still going for anywhere between $100k-$150k in the market right now
5.0 Mustang. I'd really go with the model years of 1987-1993 here. Ford sold a bajillion of these, though the basic body style first came out in 1977, I think. That, and the 5.0 V8 is about as iconic as an engine gets. These were as fun, fast, and cheap as you could get. Nothing came close in the 'bang for your buck' dept. 93 GT: The 1993 Mustang Cobra. Only a handful were made when Ford brought back the Cobra in '93.
You know what I never got? Why the 5.0 LX was so popular. I always preferred the look of the GT, but Mustang "purists" almost always preferred the LX.
Yup. Not only was it lighter, but was also structurally stronger than the hatch or convertible, which equates to faster 1/4 miles times and better handling.
I go to a few car shows from time to time, basically events where anybody can bring their car and park it, and check out other cars. These events are usually dominated by classic cars, they don't allow modded current cars or anything. Anyways, I've been seeing more and more early 1980s trucks and SUVs, such as the 1979 or 1980 F-150, etc. Also, cars that you thought would never be popular, are starting to show up at these things, like the other day there was a mint 1980 Buick Riviera that was at one of these things.
