meh, I never liked it much. I think it is a littler better than the Simpsons, but that really is not saying much.
What exactly about King of the Hill is not boring and stale in comparison to The Simpsons and Futurama?
Futurama is one of the most clever, consistently funny shows that was ever produced. The first season was admittedly mediocre, but I think after that it really hit its stride. The characters are superb. Futurama getting good is also directly proportional to the Simpsons starting to suck after about 8 seasons of absolute glory. I'm a KOTH fan, but the Simpsons is like The Beatles of animated TV shows.
I was just going to ask the same thing. I quit watching King of the Hill years ago. Just wasn't even remotely funny to me any more. Futurama blows it away and always has.
WHAT?! Simpsons defines comedy. Disrespect to Futurama is one thing, but to the Simpsons as well? That's just insanity.
if this means more of that constant struggle between Hermes Conrad and Barbados Slim sign me up I CANT WAIT!
I love King of the Hill because of the stereotypes about Texans which really hits home. But Futurama on the other hand is hands down the best animated comedy series. The satire and sarcasm is clever, funny, and original. The characters are lovable and stay true to their personality. This is a great victory for Futurama fans.
The Simpsons were great back in the day, but that show needs to end. To me it just tarnishes the greatness that was The Simpsons. Futurama, KOTH, Family Guy> The Simpsons of recent memory All 4 shows have had great runs.
^^^^that. KOTH wasn't funny to me until I lived in Texas for a couple years. Now it makes so much more sense.
Family Guy is the worst show on the air. It has run stale and is focusing purely on shock value now. Random scenes are only funny if they last for a few moments. The current Family Guy random scenes go on for minutes. Seth McFarlane also puts in too much political preaching to where it gets unbearable to watch. Let Family Guy die. It only deserved 5 seasons at most.
I would say the same for South Park. Both shows are shells of their former selves. They used to have a classic EVEY NIGHT, now, both shows just go for shock value like you said. I would say FG is slightly better than SP right now. But SP seasons 2-8 is the greatest stretch any animated comedy show has ever had.
South Park is even more Shock Value than FG is. I laughed my ass off when I first watched the episodes, then I watched them again and it was sparse laughter to say the least.
I still enjoy the parodies of South Park now and then. However, when it goes back to shock value and toilet humor, that's when I usually turn it off. I'd say out of a 14-episode season for South Park, I'd like about 3-4 episodes.
