    That's why I added " 3' ".
Fifaworldcup.yahoo.com has it at 3', so I have to take THEIR words. Sorry about that, man... I think your pick is almost there! game is almost over... 9 minutes to go. :)

Mexico vs. Costa Rica in about 15 minutes... BTW: Costa Rica has been the ONLY team to beat MEXICO at Gigantic Azteca Stadium.

Here's something Rocket fans might find interesting........my fellow countrymen (T&T) sport a soccer uniform that porbably looks like soccer's version of the Rockets uniforms. Check out the pants and the silver collar on the jersey....does the design look fimilar to you?

david_rocket, I was counting on you being at the game... how come you didn't go? Don't tell me you're far away... my wife is from Coacalco.

I will never forgive my father-in-law who didn't take me to see that wonderful stadium... he said it was "too far..." yeah, right.

Next time you come I will take you to the stadium.

I went to the Azteca stadium, to saw a preseason game: Oilers vs Cowboys.

The U.S. should have won by more. They wasted chance after chance, none more glaring than Donovan's in the 30th minute when the T&T goalkeeper gave him the ball right outside the box!!! Hopefully they can regain their scoring touch before they suffer a loss to some crappy team like Mexico ;) . J/K Slowly and other Tri fans. The U.S. will make the last three, so you USA soccer team bashers can give it a rest.
I was wondering, how many of you who watch and follow soccer also wager on the games? Do any of you place bets on who will win the WC or any other major tournament? And if yes, on average how much do you wager? Just wondering.

    FINAL: MEX 2 - CRC 0
    U.S.A., you're NEXT!
I bet you can remember how much it rained at that game and how soggy the field got. I remember watching it. It was in the early '90s, maybe 1993? Every time they went to commercials, it would say: "Petroleros vs. Vaqueros" with the score on the screen. Whenever they played music, it was either Mariachi or NorteƱo. They finished the game MUDDY. I remember it well. El Coloso de Santa Ursula broke a preseason record for attendance for the NFL. Look it up, I think it was well close to 100,000 watching the game which went to over time?

    And it's SwoLy, not s l o w l y !!! :D

plcmts17 In MEXICO, it's called a "quiniela" and it's betting on what scores the games will have at the end of a "jornada", which is a complete season week when all the teams play or some rest. It's organized nationally, and you buy the ticket, then wager, then there is no "fixed" anything because you have to guess ALL the games, and you hit the jackpot only if you know enough about who's playing each other, weather, players, and all those factors involving the game.

Here in the U.S., I haven't bet anything on games. At my relatives' house, when there are games in which Mexico doesn't play, we bet about $5 to $20, especially on the score in the world cup, where it's unpredictable and some teams surprise others, the way France got surprised in the first game last Cup.

I only bet someone their signature... I hear that's worth a lot of money... ;)

Mad: that would be on September 3rd, in Columbus OHIO.

leroy420 lost his signature to me, I made him write that on his signature. Still, he's being delinquent because it's supposed to be CLEAN off his stuff and only with my signature creation... he's got some lemmings crap in there... :p

I think there's excitement about this one, because if the U.S. wins, he gets to remove the signature stuff. I don't know what happens otherwise...

leroy420, let's discuss that in the coming [futbol]U.S. vs. MEX thread, shall we?
