This argument would carry a lot more weight if KG were actually an interior player. He's not. He's a big guy who can step out on the floor and create his own shot off the dribble.

KG is a great player, but he has a history of shrinking in the biggest moments. Which is why he's been so successful with guys like Pierce and Cassell who aren't afraid to take the big shots but aren't good enough to carry a team throughout the season.

I think you're take is spot on. You can argue all day about whether or not KG is da-man on the court or not. Like Tracy he never got out of the first round until his team got considerably better, but as also pointed out, you can say that about pretty much 99% of all NBA players - though there are exceptions. At the end of the day, before Cassell and Spree, KG was on a number of 50 win teams that didn't make it out of the first round, including one with home-court advantage. In most cases they weren't talented enough or expected to make it out of the first round....and they didn't, which is kind of the point.

As to his attitude, thoug, I agree with you completely.

I've actually read a few articles that contradict this. For years, KG was thought of as the nice guy on the court, whereas the Rasheed Wallace's of the world were the mean guys, whereas in actuality, from what i read, it was the opposite...with Sheeds off the court persona being very personable, humble and nice and KG's being the opposite.

The last few years have really shifted the public's feel about KG. Personally, my opinion of him changed long ago, specifically after reading about the Rick Rickert incident. He apparently also sucker punched Wally randomly at one point.

Here's someone with a pretty big beef against him, it seems, but the actions highlighted, if true, have nothing to do with trash talking, which is fine, or leadership, which is expected. He can trash talk Ben Gordon all day long, being a classless idiot, though, is...well, being a classless idiot.
