All I know is that we used to get in trouble when we played Strake Jesuit. We'd make signs that said stuff like: Crucify the Crusaders Impale the Crusaders Persecute the Crusaders Torment the Crusaders Pillage the Crusaders Massacre the Crusaders Nail the Crusaders Execute the Crusaders Bedevil the Crusaders Torture the Crusaders The signs would always get torn down before the game, we'd get a stern talking to from the principal, and only have lame signs up like "Beat Strake (which we tried to write in a way that made the "a" in Strake look like an "o").
Speaking of the Ganders, check out their mascot at Clutch The Bear's Fantasy Mascot camp last weekend: http://www.click2houston.com/video/24634570/index.html The guy is hilarious.
I graduated from Klein where we were the Bearkats. don't know if that animal actually exists, although we did have what looked like a big stuffed badger they called a real bearkat.
Graduated from Ganderville, but started out a Groton Zebra. Football jerseys were black with white stripes across. Actually refused to say my old school's mascot, flashbacks from getting called "oreo" every day of junior high.
There is a high school near my house, and they are called the North East Grape Pickers. I think this rivals many of the names you guys have posted.
