Pryor, yeah. Also Bill Hicks and Lenny Bruce. Nobody touches that unholy triumvirate and every other (good) comedian is imitating one of those three.
I just got DEEP's CD in the mail, and above the ridiculous picture it says, OCP=Da Mic Terrorist. Way to just fall into the stereotype. Sigh...
Anyone ever heard of Jeremy Hotz? He is my favorite right now. I'm actually working on a "Best of" project right now. It will be a CD combining all my TV work and the best of my club stuff. I'm no Pryor, Rock or Peters but I love my job and have a great time doing it. Hell, I'm not even MY favorite comic.
My favorites are Richard Jeni and Pablo Francisco. Jeni's earlier stuff was funnier than his new stuff, however.
Well, not to throw in skits, but Dave Chapelle is the funniest...period...As for stand-up, Richard Pryor, hands down...
I havent seen much of richard pryor's comedy. Does ne 1 know where i can find a clip or a video of him, since he is so highly recommended
Go to Blockbuster, Richard Pryor Live in concert 1979 or Richard Pryor Wanted Dead or Alive, are his two best acts IMO. Hands down the greatest standup comedian ever, the wife and I were watching his DVD a couple nights ago. Ive seen it maybe 20 plus times already...
Anybody ever see Ron White from Houston (AB?) A lot of the humor is looking at us Houstonian types but he's got a great schtick...he look's really drunk like the funniest guy at the bar at 2 AM.
Two of my favorite shows are Jamie Foxx's "I Might Need Security" and Seinfeld's "I'm Telling You For the Last Time" Another great one is Eddie Murphy's "Raw" (of course). Also, I remember seeing some stand up from Tommy Davidson from like 15 years ago. I can't remember the name of that show but he was in Philly and it was fu****' hilarious.
