I don't speak for the left, a huge group you routinely oversimplify. But, if you're referring to people like Trump, he keeps breaking laws and juries of his peers keep holding him to account. It is not as complicated as his weird narratives would lead you to believe. (e.g. everyone is out to get me!1!! I never did anything wrong!!1!. Send me some money, won't you, to "save America"?) I don't think the left has "locked up" anyone who hasn't broken a law. Lots of trump lawyers have ended up in prison, but a lot of that predates his entering politics. In fact, he had some skeezy political friends on the left back in the day. I think one of those New York left politicians actually ended up in prison. (shrug)
