NFL Network's Michael Giardi reports the Patriots have "discussed" acquiring Demaryius Thomas ahead of Tuesday afternoon's trade deadline. Fellow NFL Network media man Ian Rapoport adds the Patriots are also "particularly interested" in Golden Tate, in addition to Thomas. Thomas, of course, was drafted by Josh McDaniels in Denver and may need a change of scenery. He's been brutal in Denver this season, pacing the league in dropped passes. And with Josh Gordon suddenly on thinner ice due to tardiness problems, the Patriots may be in the market for outside WR help. Tate is the better player at this stage. Looks like we got our additions!
I don't understand why we don't go after Tate. I know he's an FA after the season but he's probably the better receiver at this point.
What?? A #1 for a receiver who is an FA next season? That can't be true. I saw somewhere where it was reported they wanted at least a 4th which is more than reasonable.
SMH Edelman, Hogan, Gordon, Patterson, Dorsettt, and Gronk. Shoot maybe the Texans should just take the odd man out after the Patriots get Demarius.
I’m trading a 3rd-4th rounder for Jackson or Tate. Go make a move! Don’t sit around because you will not do **** with these scrub receivers.
If the 2018 class is any indicator of how Gaines will draft, holding onto a mid-rounder instead of a half season rental isn't all that bad. Keke, Duke, Akins and Thomas have already been contributors. Hell even 6th rounder Kalambayi is getting in on the action.
