Hi I watch the original FMA series and really liked it. It was full of action and the story was very dark and deep.

Also recommend that you watch Berserk, if you haven't watch it. I think it is one of the best anime ever.

Love FMA. One of my fav top animes along with Code Geass, Ghost in the Shell SAC, Death Note, Rurouni Kenshin, Samaurai Champloo, and Eureka 7. The "Shamballa" movie sucked hard though.

Also, though I agree with Kojirou that shows like Naruto and Bleach are a bit formulaic and not representative of the best in anime, man did he ever come across as a douche in pointing that out. This is Clutchfans, not Toonzone. No one gives a sh-t. lol :)

Naruto hit a lull after Sasuke's departure
Nice fight at the end of it and good backstories
[the filler episodes were more formulaic and weak]

The Shippudden is IMO good but not as good as the original

Death Note was a bit formulaic . . I got irratated with some the escapes
    that were a bit too . . . uhm . . . convienent.

GOGOL 13 - I know the animation is not all world .. but I like the Character

So is there currently an American station that has picked up the new FMA series, or is it only viewable online? I can't find very much info on it.

The only place you can find it is through bittorrent. There are several fansubs out.

It usually takes quite a while for any official English translation of animes to arrive in the US.

I believe the Funimation website allows you to stream the episodes (with English Subs) for free if you don't want to download them.

You can watch it online here.

Actually, that site is great for watching all anime if you're interested in just catching up on a series or seeing what all the hype is about. They have most notable anime series uploaded, plus American shows like Avatar.

The best anime hands down is Cowboy Bebop. Get your hands on it and watch it in all its glory, b****es.

you should watch the first version of FMA, not the new FMA called FMA:brotherhood.

also, if you like "dark" anime, you should check out death note. its not really dark but jesus christ i cant begin to explain how great this series is. it's a thriller from beginning to end. on par, i think, with full metal alchemist.

edit: naruto had a huge rough patch but has picked it up recently. still a solid manga read. bleach has hit the pooper though. that manga is garbage.

And much more watchable than the other "best anime," Evangelion, imo.

Sorry. I left out online streaming sites because I like watching things in high quality. Therefore I didn't even consider them. But I should've.

I think you need to be careful about using this as an opener with ladies.

I just recently gotten back into anime(never was a big fan at first, even as a kid). Pretty much all of the shows I've been watching recently has come from the studio of Kyoto Animation. Some of the best artwork I've ever seen, plus their shows are really touching and funny as well.

Besides that, I also been watching some Gundam series. Gotta love them mechas.

I've been watching hitman reborn lately. It's a pretty good series if you like comedy, and the usual train-powerup-fight random enemy-train more series. There's nothing wrong with that, no matter what the anime snobs say. Naruto (without the fillers) is one of my favorites.

I don't think the anime is great only because it's incomplete. It's too bad the violence and nudity gives it no chance for the rest of the manga to be picked up. I can't believe it's been 10+ years since that manga is running. Please finish it already...!!>!>!>!

If you like incoherent gory mess try out Gantz....

i have seen a few episodes of hitman reborn, it has its moments i havent seen it all though

i am downloading the first 2 seasons of FMA right now (first 51 or so episodes)

i read the first two issues of the manga on onemanga.com last night it was pretty good will take some time to get into since it sort of just jumps you right into the story line but it is interesting.

also anyone know of any good torrent places to get full seasons of new/old fansubbed (or dvd) anime? I enjoy watching anime but i cant stand watching anything dubbed i prefer the original language and subtitles.

I watched the entire thing in japanese with english subs. I can't stand english dubbing and it fits a lot better when they are speaking japanese because it's such a foreign setting that a foreign voice over contributes to it's overall characters. It's really great and unique in it's own ways. The overall story is about 2 brothers trying to revive their dead mother. Sounds emo but there's more to it actually.

I am current watching 07 Ghost. Never even heard of it before a few weeks ago but the guys who were subbing Naruto took this on when they stopped subbing Naruto. You can get the tracker at their website:

    Here are some I use.

www.boxtorrents.com/browse.php - mostly for old ones
www.animesuki.com - New and old ones. But no licensed anime
www.baka-updates.com/releases.php - New ones. Include unlicensed anime

And the awesome thing about Cowboy Bebop is the dubbed English version is just as good as the original version. The voice actors were superb
