Im still amazed about this quadruple double, I would've wanted to watch this game live.

    and the boxscore:

Its interesting to see in the boxscore, that no player had more than 8 FTs.
Now players, gets a lot of calls, and a lot of FTs.

And people say Shaq, Wilt, Kareem or Russell were better.

    Hakeem is the GOAT center!

Repped. This honestly, is my oldest memory of watching the Rockets. I don't remember the team, nor the season, but I remember the moment on TV. I remember that last play, the pass that was Dream's 10th assist to complete that historic accomplishment. I think I was 9 at the time...didn't really start watching until a couple of years later, but wow...thanks for the find.

All of those guys are the mt rushmore of centers.
I have to say that Kareem was amazing, he was averaging over 20 points til he was 39!

Hakeem was better than all of them.

Dare I say, greatest player of all time?

Maybe I'm just being a homer.

remember Moses Malone helped a young Dream mold into the player he is today. I think when Dream is helping others now, he's just paying it forward.

I remember Dream's hall of fame speech and how serious he was about playing in the post and playing defense.

you only find such dedication among the greats.

Sky hook vs Dream shake? it happened, we were witness! :)

Good thread, david. Que viva el Rey de los pívotes: DREAM!

Speaking of Quadruple Doubles, wasn't there another game versus the Oakland/Golden State Warriors in which Dream was supposed to have been given the credit of a steal and didn't?

I seem to remember this may have been in the same season.

    Great thread
Yeah, it was in the same month. They took it away because they felt the Rockets scorekeepers credited Hakeem with a couple of undeserved assists. He still had an insane statline but I've never seen highlights of that game for some reason. It was against the Run TMC Warriors too.

I think this a good way of spending the offseason, watching vids of old rockets, while waiting for the new season (if it starts someday).

Not a very astute observation, yo. The teams shot 20 and 25 FTs total. That's pretty normal by today's standards... Just means there was no one player getting all the calls, which will happen even today. You'll have games once in a while where no one will take more than 8 FTs today.

You can't jump to ridiculous conclusions based on such a tiny sample size.

Lawls. Sorry for the bump... I saw this in the "related threads" links at the bottom of the page for that other quadruple-double thread. Didn't realize how old it was or I would have left it alone.
