THE US PLAYED LIKE S*** AGAINST THE CZECH'S.

THE US SQUEAKED OUT A TIE AGAINST ITALY.

Are you happy now that I've said it for the 1000th time? Who said the US was satisfied by not scoring a goal through 2 games? I said that I don't care how we get there if we get there. That doesn't make me happy with their play. Who knows what will happen in the knockout stages? Maybe they turn it on. We've always played Brazil tight. Just maybe we catch them on an off day. You act like it's over for the US. If the US wins tomorrow, I believe they will have the same exact record as Mexico in what is universally believed to be a tougher group. Mexico played very well against Iran. I thought they might go 3-0. They they did not exactly play well in their last 2 games. Are you happy about backing in with Angola's tie?

watching the kor/togo game i noticed how dangerous adebayor is. i'm very impressed by the african countries during the world cup. they're natural athletes and you cant teach athleticism just like in basketball. with the right systems they should be able to produce some awesome players.

    Swoly,

Do you think England is unhappy with their win in the first game by the other team's own goal?

Luck is a factor, and sometimes teams get better the longer they play together, if the USA beats Ghana, and gets through, they will have earned it, just like everyone else.

If they don't get through, they will be a huge dissappointment.

But they played HARD against Italy, and they even scored a goal with only 9 men...which was disallowed, and NO TEAM IN WC history has ever scored a goal when only 9 men were on the pitch.

They played like crap in the first game, but spirited in the 2nd, if they can get it together, they can get by Ghana....and truthfully they should.

    USA 2
    Ghana 1

    Italy 1
    Czech 1

    We go home.

    Ghana just beat Czech 2-0

    and Czech beat US 3-0

lets hope 2 + 3 does not equal 5 in this situation

I think for the most part yes it's nice to get through to the second round. But to play this poorly and get to the second round doesn't mean as much. I guess to some it does but if it were my team playing this bad i would not enjoy the second round as much because i would figure an easy loss.

Yes England got an own goal to help their cause, but other than that they have been playing well and attacking well. US on the other hand has really had no type of consitant good play in my eyes. They have played hard but haven't been able to get a decent shot off. Yes the goal they scored was dissallowed but it was the right call. It's not like it was a mistaken call and they took it from you. It was a legitimate call and should not have counted which it didn't. The main thing i look at right now is that they have not produced shots on goal which is a big problem right now and would be even bigger if they were to make it to second round. At least test the defense a bit which they haven't been doing.

It's not like im rooting for or against the US in these matches im honestly trying to look at it objectively and what i see from them is not really good. I even thought they would have done a bit better than they have. At least get some shots and make the other team work but they haven't managed to do that.

Overall, i think most fans would be happy with a second round birth, but i wouldn't enjoy a birth in the second round with poor play...but that's just me.

It never works that way...each game is it's own vehicle...Ghana is missing 2 key players, the USA is missing 2, but not as key.

And the USA is finally starting to put the right pieces on the pitch together in the right spots, I think that is one of the problems with putting a national team together, not enough time playing quality opponents to find out who meshes with whom.

Got to get EJ in the game with Dempsey though...McBride is great, but he has had TONS of chances, and not put one on target......got to get more speed up front....look what Rooney does for UK...the speedy counter is key especially late in the half and at the end of games.

    Stack.

How could anyone not want to get through? By hook or crook?

And if the USA does get through, by some MIRACLE...they get to play Brazil, and in that situation we would get to root for a severe underdog.

    Miracle on turf baby !!

You guys do have an advantage going into this game with them missing some players. A change up front has been long overdue and really need to put some spark in the team.

Ghana's team is too fast to not have fast players out there to match up and cuase them just as much problem as they are going to cause. That's one thing the african nation teams do is wear you out and look for chances. They are probably the most fit teams in the WC always and they can tire you out and that's when they attack. Just like Nigeria did a few years back and the African teams are doing right now. They make you keep up and you better stay fresh out there.

Dempsy and EJ should help you guys a lot and give you that speed you need to counter them.

I dunno, it's not like i wouldn't be happy if my team made it. So I understand where your coming from but just like now I am so pissed at how bad we have played this WC. We were expecting much more, much like the US did. Difference being US got some breaks this time around.

I understand what your saying and a win is a win and to advance is nice...i guess i just look at it more than that...

Hypothetically, would the rest of the world, minus Brazil, love us or hate us for removing Brazil from the tournament? Gives everyone else a better chance of winning right?

The rest of the world (outside of Brazil) would be ecstatic if they were eliminated, but then they would all be a bit scared about the rising of the USA team, and whether it was a fluke or not.

On any given year yes...the whole world would love you for taking out a power house...even though the ratings wouldn't love us lol.

This year though i don't see them doing much..they have not impressed me at all compared to some other teams. Now i would love to see a game with Brazil sitting Ronaldo and starting Robinho and see what they do then. Because the few times he has come in the second half he has changed the pace of the game and really made some opportunities. Instead of Ronaldo walking around the pitch waiting for that one chance at goal.

yeah i was just kidding, i know neither team has that kinda firepower for a 5-0 result. it will most likely be 1-0, 1-1, or 2-1.. i also know Ghana is not chump. US better bring their 'A' Game.

In the end this may be the toughest group top to bottom, and clearly, we belong at the bottom with the way we have played, BUT, there is another day !!

Italy advances, and it gets down to goal differential between us and the Czechs.

Since the Czechs currently sit at +1 in GD, we would have to win by 4 goals just to tie the Czechs....

I'm not sure about that.. Group C is pretty stacked with Netherland and Argentina.. there is also a good chance Ivory Coast would of advanced had their luck been better and they were in another group. They're better than many 2nd place teams in their respective groups
