    These are my 2 cents:

Where was Eddie Johnson when we had another sub?

    Why was DeMarcus so lazy?

    Dam ref.

That offsides was questionable imo. We were a hair away from beating Italy.

    Poor officiating.

Holding the draw while a man down was a moral victory, but that won't get us to the next round. Have to beat Ghana!

Wow, I've never seen a ref that bad in my life, and I've been playing for 25 years... It's disappointing with the officiating destroys the game.

USA brought their game today. Italy got lucky.

They should not have disallowed the go ahead goal from Beasley, that is a VERY questionable call, especially since the keeper got both hands on that shot.

If you look at where McBride was (at the edge of the box) how on earth could that have been interfernce when Gigi was barely off his line. McBride had nothing to do with play anyway so the offside should have NOT been called.

I don't think it was called offside, but rather interference, or something like that...

I think they called him for hindering the keepers vision.

That is an offence relating to being offside, so he was called for offside. He gained unfair advantage by blocking the goalie's vision. I can see why they called it, but I can also see it going the other way too.

If he had stayed still he wuold have not been called. He was called because he lifted his leg i believe and looked like he was going to move. If he had made no type of move and just stood there when the shot went off i think it would have been a goal.

We see it in football often too. Yes it was a foul according to the rule book. But no one can remember when was the last time that foul was called. Then the referee suddenly had the urge to enforce it and decisively changed the outcome of a game.

Yeah sad to see the outcome of the game being decided on something so iffy.

He should have let it go, let the players decide, what McBride did had nothing to do with the match, plus it was not on a free kick it was just part of the action.

Travesty today for the US - one of the worst officiated games i've ever witnessed.

I also wonder why Reyna is considered one of our top players. I'm not soccer guru, but i've never seen him do anything in all the games he's played. Why are we scared to give our young guns a chance? Johnson should be playing more, and Dempsey should be a starter.

I have always thought that the World Cup is a great place to play younger players, they usually are fearless with a chip on their shoulder.

I sure would like to see what Johnson could do, as I am less than impressed by McBride.

He has had a LOT of shots and has failed to put a single one on target.

Heck, the USA should have won going away today, all they had to do was put some of those headers into the back of the onion sack.

Are you serious? Reyna was brilliant in 2002, hence why he made the World Cup first XI. He's past his best now, but still our most complete midfielder.

2 reasons. Experience at the highest levels and with a lot of young players he's good at slowing the pace and keeping control of the ball which is VITAL in the W.C.
He doesn't panic or kick the ball away as often as others.
I don't think he's the best player we have but he is one of the top. No doubt about it.

Agreed...The officials sucked today, period...However, we had plenty of chances and couldn't convert...McBride is past his prime...I like him his hustle, but man, he couldn't do crap today...Landon is amazing and needs some talent around him...We need to beat Ghana by at least 3 goals...
