EJ must start next game, Beasley has shown me nothing today. Maybe 1 good defensive play....that was it. The USA was playing backwards wayyyyyyy too much.

Man, let's hope Ghana can pull a draw today.

Why do we suck when the WC's are in Europe?! :(

Seems team USA is good at passing and ball handling but have no real creativity when it comes to attacking.

    Sad!

I really thought they were better than this.

Yep, averaged 5 goals a game at the age of 13, decent control but I was just faster with the ball then most were without it.

Then got to high school and we did not have a team, so I went to the Baytown Saints team (all Mexican - no one spoke English at all) and I scored 2 goals in my first game, but concentrated on Baseball and football instead, I should have stuck with soccer, I was much better at that than baseball or football.

I love it.....played right Wing, up front...striker baby...that is why I am hating on Convey his services into the forwards suck...Donavan's are great....

It was serious. I know little about soccer, all I heard was that the Czechs were ranked 2nd and us 5th, but I didn't even know if those rankings were in the World or some type of division.

And thanks for the sympathy, but unfortunately most Americans prob have no idea the World Cup is on. I watch a little just because of the '94 Cup.

How's ya'lls team supposed to fare?

Who cares what moronic Americans who don't want to appreciate anything they're not good at think? Soccer is a beautiful game and the best sport in the world, that is all that I care about.

And the dude who made that comment is probably a loser whose only athletic ability is moving his fingers on a keyboard.

Maybe I don't have a good read. Kind of hard to follow from a computer screen and ESPN Updates.

Those are the worlds rankings. Brazil is #1 Czech #2 etc....

In our group though, we have Italy, Ghana, and Czech. Czech by far is the toughest opponent in our group.

if this game is any indication, we are anything but a good passing and ball handling team. so many amateur give aways.

words the BBC announcers have used to describe our play:

    "one dimensional"
    "predictable"
    "surprising lack of energy"
    "unmotivated"

Oh now i remember(aren't you partly Irish? or am i mistaken).
the rankings are of the world, however they are not really accurate, the usa is not the fifth team in the world, IMHO the czech might be the second best or even the best.
The czechs almost didn't qualify for the tournament(in the qualification they finished second behind the dutch :D , i do need to add that Nedved(the best czech player) didn't play in those games))

I would be great if the americans would also start to like soccer, it is a great game.

My team is doing well, we beat serbia. (I also root for the Aussies T&T and south korea, they all have dutch coaches)

Lakewood, went to Baytown Lee, I was much smaller in High school about 5'8" and 145, really quick. In football was a wide receiver, 4.55 40.....which served me better in soccer than football..

Horrible outing today. We were slow and predictable with every move. Couldn't agree with the BBC announcers any more than I do now.
