Australia got hosed on that call! That was NOT a goal, it should have been a foul against Japan.

Yeah, it was not even close to fair. The keeper got obstructed in his safe area.

To bad that shot of kewell didn't go in. Oh and this game can get out of hand

Yeah the difference is that in Mexico people generally care about soccer and don't need to hear about Mexico all the time. The US is not at that point yet. They need to cater to their audience and the majority of people watching because of the US team and just casually watch other games and honestly really only care about the US team. That is how ABC/ESPN try to keep them around. I don't think you can blame them for trying to get better ratings. For those that love soccer, it might be annoying, but sadly there are not enough. Maybe someday they will not have to do that to keep people watching, but for now, I think they do.

Here's the starting XI, 4-5-1 (that can easily switch to a Chelsea style 4-3-3):

    Keller

    Cherundolo
    Onyewu
    Pope
    Lewis

    Beasley
    Reyna
    Mastroeni
    Donovan
    Convey

    McBride

I'm off to a class that I absolutely can't miss, what type of college class has assignments due every day and random pop quizes that count for 25% of your grade? I'll be watching on TV about three hours late and then will be back to discuss.

    YES Equilizer for Australia !!

Bad call by Ref, missed a penalty kick for Japan, but that equals out the Goal by Japan that should not have counted.

That is what I am talking about :D

Wilkshire should never have played, Cahill in the midfield with Kewell on the left. Kennedy was brilliant up front when he came on.

Cahill is a national hero :D

About Japan's goal - the announcing team here said that the Australian goalie only had himself to blame and it was a correct call. He was creating the situation by running into the attackers. Anyway I'm real happy Australia won as it meant so did I. 2.55 payback, woohoo!
