No doubt this will be the toughest group to get out of, that's way too many good teams in one group, some worse teams will advance from other groups instead.
that's why u need to watch the games on the spanish channel...the american annoucers suck....who knows what the spanish announcers are saying, but it's great
I know they're trying to dumb it down for the average American who doesn't know/watch much soccer and is tuning in, but these announcers are going overboard with the basketball/baseball analogies. BTW, that second Argentina goal was clearly offside, but it was a makeup call for that first goal that didn't count, so I guess they evened things out.
The Toure brothers, Eboue, Drogba, and that guy with the blue hair all look good for Ivory Coast and as whole they look dangerous on offense...if they can only finish...I definitely see them scoring 1 goal before this game is over
I don't think it was. From the replay it looks like he was pretty level with the defenders when the pass was first kicked.
DAMN!!! Ivory Coast should not be down by 2 goals... they outplayed the Argentinians the whole half... but a silly off-side trap didn'[t work and a lucky bounce or two have them on top...hopefully my team can come back. and they will
My Teams: 1) Mexico 2) US 3) Brazil - I always root for the underdog but they are just too fun to watch.
I think the ref made the correct call in both situations. From the replays I have seen the entire ball was not in, and while Crespo was offside, Saviola was not. I have money on Argentina to win, but also to get more corner kicks than Ivory coast so I need them to get chances that are saved to corners in the 2nd half. Up 2-0, but down 2-4 in corners.
I'm rooting for all the American teams. From the Top to the Bottom. 1.US 2.Mexico 3.Costa Rica 4.Trinidad and Tobago 5.Ecuador 6.Brazil 7.Paraguay 8.Argentina
I knew you had MEXICAN blood. What's up with our wallpaper? Next thing you'll want is a replay booth, huh? That ball was NOT in. It's supposed to be CLEARLY 100% across the line. That ball was NOT. Argentina deserves THIS score. MY TEAMS: Mexico, US, T&T, COSTA RICA, IRAN
I really think its just the US media that is keep on making the world cups political, while i was in other countries during the coverage of the past world cups they rarely mentioned any political aspects of any of the teams participating.
I don't watch too much soccer but one thing that stands out about this sport - besides the explosive pace of the scoring - is how much flopping there is. What's up with that? Don't these players have any pride towards fair play. It's like every team is full of Dirks.
No, I don't want replays. That's what I read that's all. It's supposed to be CLEARLY 100% across the line?? What FIFA rule is that again??? I thought it was the linesman's job to decide if it was in or not?? Just ask Germany in the '66 WC or Chelsea in the '05 Champions League Semifinal if the ball has to be clearly 100% over the line.
well thats one aspect of football (soccer) that fans have gotten used to, i am not saying that it doesnt get really annoying but it comes with the game but u cant argue that players dont have any pride towards fair play, soccer has probably the best sportsmanship of all the sports out there, for example if one team has a player down injured the other team would automatically kick the ball outa bounds, you will NEVER see that in football(american) or basketball or baseball.
Where do you think the Euro players in the NBA got their flopping skills from? They got them from the very "best" or worst floppers in the world, soccer players...Divac, Ginobili, Dirk all Euro...I wouldn't be surprised if Derek Fisher, Devon Harris, and a few other American players are big soccer fans as well...lol
not just the announcers, they whole way they are showing the game is terrible, if its live then why when i switch over the the spanish channel they have the same game but like 5 sec faster? and somebody needs to tell ch13 that when they say that the game starts at 8 THEY MEAN ITS GONA START at exactly 8.
