generally PK's are tough to stop. Anyone know the success percentage of PK's?

lol. yes the floppers win the world cup... that's great

I guess more players need to go to Hollywood and get some acting lessons.

France deserved to win this game...they dominated the second half...Italy just had all their players back.

What a strange Cup this has been. Congrats to Italy. I won't exactly say they deserved to win this game, but they were certainly the best overall team over the last 30 days. I'm not a fan of their style, their flopping, and their attitude. However, the only goals scored on them were an own goal and a pk. That's just plain silly. Cannavaro is a great defender, maybe the best in the world. De Rossi can go f*** himself for all I can. He should not have been given a chance to come back in this Cup. Buffon proved himself to be the best goalie in the world with today's perfomance.

    Congrats Italia!

On to 2010 in South Africa!

LOL! Materazzi gave Zidane a titty twister, said a couple words in Zidane's ears, and BAM Zidane head butts him to the ground. What a punk.

I'm really happy Italy won, what a bunch of idiots the French are.

    WOOO!!

Yes, I know. However, you can still tell when someone can or cannot do it. even if he had guessed correctly, he wouldn't have saved any of them. He doesn't have the ability to get to the post quick enough. It's not his size. It's his technique. He turns his hips which he shouldn't do. His reaction time is pathetic. It always has been. Buffon didn't exactly do well either. The post saved his ass.

You have to think that Zidane is taking the pk that Trezuget missed. Typically, you put your best at #3. What a shame to go out like that.

WOW! I didn't realize that all those players become free agents. Real, Manchester, Chelsea, and Barcelona are going to go nuts to sign these guys. I'd love to see Cannavaro as a Red Devil.

Then whomever was 3rd would have been 2nd. Either way, Zidane screwed his team and his country. He should avoid showing his face in public anytime soon. Maybe he will play in the MLS just to get away from Europe.

    Wow!! Absolutely amazing game!!!

Italy looked tired, but played awesome defense and deserve to win.

Might have made a soccer fan out of me.

While I was in Germany there was one song they played a lot and I heard a lot of people singing it walking around. It's the unofficial song over there.

    Here's the video of it. '54, '74, '90, 2006

About the game, I'm glad Italy won it. France's goal came from an obvious dive, but they did outplay Italy during the second half and especially during the overtime periods.

The French definitely deserving to win the cup.. too bad Trezeguet came in a bit late...and from the beginning of the cup I always wondered why Barthez started when they have a world-class goalkeeper with sizable Champions League experience in Gregory Coupet (a good PK stopper too)

anyway the best active GK PK stopper that I know is Pepe Reina (Liverpool, Spain) about 50%ish, if you get to see him play in FA Cup Final you guys will realize how bad Barthez looked in the PKs

Yup, totally agree! Italy always plays soft and I'm always bored by the way they play. France was the better team today--just didn't work out for them. Too bad about Zidane though...He should have kept his cool and not let the Italian player get to his head.
