    Henry has to finish!!! he has had and made some very good chances to score and nada,zip,zilch. He's gotta step it up.

    You know, Buffon has not given up a regular goal. PK and own goal, but nothing that can be considered a standard goal.

    If France wins this one, Barthez had better buy Rolex's or something for each and every defender and mid in front of him. He is terrible today. Yes, it was offside, but he was no where near in position to make a play on it. He's constantly getting stuck in no man's land...just as he did on the goal...just as he did on the ball off the crossbar...just as he did when Vieria made the nice diving header to clear the ball in the first half.

    Buffon has been great, but he was simply toasted on that pk. Zidane abused him.

    Can the World Cup Final end in penalty kicks? I would hate to see it end that way, It's all luck at that point. They should go to extra time, and if it's still tied then they should keep playing with the Golden Goal rule.

    Yes it can, actually in 1990(i think) italy lost in the finals with PK, roberto Baggio(their star at the moment) missed the last one(3 others also missed), oh and Italia never won a Penalty serie on a WC.

    barthez is a terrible goalie, and he already has 1 WC and 1 EC. Strange world

    That was 1994. the only time it's ever happened.1978 and 1966 were the last finals to end in OT or extra time.

    If the match goes to penalty kicks, it makes sense that Italy is playing so defensively. From all that has been shown in this WC, you have to favor Buffon keeping out more penalties than Barthez.

    Buffon though Zidane was going to his left again, as he did against Portugal. Zidane went the other way with a lovely chip. There is no "almost fail" when the ball goes in the goal.


    It will be a total shame if this goes to pk's. Italy would have to be heavily favored with Buffon. France has been the much better team since the 2nd half started. You have to finish.

    What the hell is Zidane doing? He's lucky if no one saw him. He should get a red for that...

    Edit: Nevermind. He was busted and is gone. It is well deserved. What a stupid stupid stupid thing to do.
