Yeah he missed it, but it is one of the reasons I hate it.......let the players decide the match, take the linesman out of it.

Get rid of offside, or at least when it is on the attacking side of the field.

I see what you are saying, but I think they have to have some sort of offsides. Otherwise soccer would just be kicking the ball down the field and hoping one of your guys down there can get it. Almost like cherry picking in an NBA All-Star game. There definitely would be a lot more scoring, but it might take a lot of the skill out of the game. Maybe they need a blue line ... hehe

Yeah, I don't have a solution, just think that the offside call and trap is too inconsistent.

Because the waste time, kicking a free kick, corner kick, if a player gets hurts, the time cant stop, so they play more minutes, and the refs analyze how time they have to add.

Germany’s defense is not very impressive; they are going to pay for that in later rounds. Nice to see so many goals, hopefully this is going to be the trend.

Can’t wait till tomorrow when the real games begin.

yeah, one thing i've never understood was why the keep the clock going just to add "stoppage time." why not just STOP THE CLOCK when need be??? ball goes out of bound - you stop the clock. player injured - you stop the clock.

i find stoppage time absolutely r****ded. it's completely unneccessary.

This is a relatively new rule. I remember when I was kid watching soccer match, playing time are dictated by the refs. So some important match, the game will keep going way after 45 min mark if the ref feels like. Generate a lot of contrversies, so FIFA implemented this new rule several years ago. Now the stoppage time are calcuated by the 4th officials off the field according to how much time was stopped due injury, corner etc.

    Stupid Soccer Question:

Why don't they just makes the goals a little bigger to have higher scoring games?

It's going to distort the game. Teams with speedy players will play like US football, sorta like wide reciver catches the throw. Teams therefore would be more defensive minded, which will make the game even slower and duller.

sometime, a 0:0 or 0:1 game is better than 10:0 game. The problem is not scoring with soccer. It's how it's played. The goal is big enough.

Because only uneducated Americans complain about the lack of scoring.

Because soccer fans can find a 0-0 game entertaining. Goals are not everything in soccer.
