Who do you guys think will come in 1st 2nd and 3rd?

I'm going with Germany - France - Italy

on my betting site that's a 4 to 1 odd

but I always like Italy - France - Germany as a 10 to 1 odd

so, hypothetically, if Germany plays France in the final and WINS, i think they should be given back Alsace. it's only fair. i'm sure the good Alsatians would much rather be citizens of Deutchland (again) anyway...

    just sayin'...

CHOICE CUTS and a little self-promotion

    not so choice cuts

    redeemed

Correct on calling ZIZOU, and I give you TONS OF credit for respecting him despite the probable 2 world cups he has kept from Brazil.

    final predicitons

    Germany 1-0 over Italy
    France 1-0 over Port
Germany 2-0 over France in the finals. (Home crowd and fresher legs prevail)

Haha...might be considered, it should be the other way around. The soccer players MIGHT consider playing in the NFL as a kicker/punter for a whole second and then decide that they make tons more money and be more respected and more famous as soccer players.

Desert Scar, France was better team that day. They dominated possession and did not allow Brazil to get into any kind of rythm. I did say that France had a chance and they would win if Zidane could turn the clock back 8 years which he mirculously did. It still has not quite sunk in that they are eliminated and probably won't until I see the new champ hoist the beautiful cup.

They'd make great NFL punters/kickers.. because they're natural floppers.. tons of penalties for roughing the kicker!!

It's more of a trophy than a cup. Somehow World Trophy doesn't have the same ring to it though.

Soccer players make a lot of money playing in the premier ship...a LOT of money.

You're correct. I should have said trophy but it doesn't sound as good. Either way, it is beautiful

As bad as it hurts for Holland and Brazil to be out, I hope I see this happen:

The thing is flopping is not a prevalent in the club leagues. I never remember it being a big problem in those leagues but in the WC there seems to be too much. I think it is b/c there is so much at stake and players try to get every advantage possible and flopping buys them calls, rest, and disrupts the momentum. It is sad but it becomes part of the game.

Also, lots of these fouls that you watch on tv don't appear to be that bad, especially when you watch the slow mo replay but in reality they are pretty bad. These guys are running at full speed, turning and twisting and are hit by another moving at similar pace, even it is barely a hit, it causes them to fall and fall quite hard. I play soccer so I know what it is like. If you guys who complain alot about the flopping actually play, you'll gain a whole new respect for it. People think it is easy but I've seen some very good athletes look pathetic on a soccer field.

Somebody please score. What's bad is that the Astros' offense today has been way more entertaining that this scoreless snoozer.

Has not been the most entertaining game of the tournament. One thing that stands out is the Italian defense, which has been impressive. On the other hand, the Germans haven't looked very sharp, which is un-Germany like.

DAMN the Italians are unlucky! Two shots to score a goal there...

Italy better win this one in regulation, I wouldn't want any part of Germany in a PK shootout.
