    Predictions:

Germany Vs. Italy: Germany wins 4-1…as everyone has realized; Germany is a machine. Plus Italy is gonna be exposed for the frauds they are.

France Vs. Portugal: It’s time these unsportsmanlike actors lose…I hate Portugal with a passion…these guys are as bad as Italy. Also, France has finally woken up (sleeping giant) they have one of the most talented and deepest teams in the whole tournament. If they play anything like they did against Brazil, not even Germany stands a chance. France wins 2-0.

It wont be blown out esp against Italy. Prepare for bore fest. Games with such high stake will be extremely painful to watch. Both games will be decided within a goal. Both could go to PSO.

Do you really believe that the German, machine or not, can score 4 goals against Italy? I think they will win the game, but the result will be like 1-0 or 2-1.

My heart's still hurting. It doesn't seem real that Brazil's elliminated :( This loss really stings.

I feel like every team I root for in sports loses, as if I am curse to them..the Titans, the Rockets, Holland, Brazil, I used to be the biggest Heat fan when ZO was in his hayday but I endured nothing but heartache and then I stop rooting for them and they win the title. I think I'll stop rooting for the Rockets and maybe they will win next season.

If you had to lose though, there's no shame in losing to the master Zizou. The guy was unbelievable in the last 2 matches. I hope France wins it all which will put him in the history books with the likes of Pele and Maradona. Unbelievable performance.

Ronaldinho is amazing but was non-existent in this tourney. I don't know whether it was the huge expectations placed on him, or the lonnnng season in la liga and the lonnnng run into the champions league but he just did not play up to his ability. He was far better in the 2002 WC. Zidane showed that he is still the master and will hopefully returned to play club.

I hope casual fans who don't like soccer and think negatively about it b/c they only get to watch the MLS are still watching these matches. You can't say that soccer is boring and lacks what american sports have. These have it al and more: action, drama, tension, patriotism, heroes, tragedy, hopes and dreams of an entire nation, so much at stake because it is every four years and you never know if you will be there next time. It truly is Beautiful.

    I'm still in denial too...

    I had flashbacks of 1998.

    Well...

At least Ronaldo got the record and Kaka and Robinho got some experience.

    About Ronaldinho...
I feel that this World Cup, Coaches prepared for him alot more. The last World Cup he surprised alot of people. They didn't want that to happen again.

    Next time...

    Next time...

A win can put a legend over the top again. Funny how people wrote off Zidane already before this world cup. He is too old, past prime etc. To me, Zidane played well last 2 matches, but he is no Maradona for sure. There is only one word describing Maradona, terrifying. Zidane is elegant on the ball, good vision, superb passer, but he is probably among the top 10 ever played soccer, not in the top 3 though. Plattini, Zico... these names were forgotten too quickly.
BTW, I never wrote off Zidane. Loved him when played for Juventus.

Ok 1-0 England on World Cup trophies.

To me underachieving is having a talented roster and not meeting expectations.

You can't argue that both nations have great roster of players and you can't argue that both failed to meet expectations.

In Spain's case they met an inspired French team who grabbed their opportunities and scored.

I favored England coming into the match against Portugal because they had a superior roster and Deco and Costinha were suspended. This was an opportunity to put all the doubters and critics in their place and they imploded!

    So I drew those observations.

I Hope that Portugal loses badly, i really start to dislike that team. But i do not know who i want to win it all, all the teams still in are not my favorites :(

I have no ideas who should win. :( :(

    Finally the semi-finals...

I dislike Cristiano Ronaldo as much as I dislike Josh Howard and Jason Terry. The England team this year is the best roster in their World Cup history but they still cannot make it. You can tell how much they care of the game after the PK shoot-out, at least 4 or 5 of them are crying. C Ron told the press that he never asked for Rooney red card but if you watched his facial expression after Rooney was sent off, you would know what that bastxxd really thought.

The Brazil-France match is great as expected. My prediction for the finalists:

    Germany vs France

and France's jersey will have 2 stars sewed 2010.

Can some of you who are really more immersed in soccer than myself tell me why Brazil's coach didn't bring in young Robertoninho(sp.)and Adriano much earlier?

Robinho is 22...he wanted more experienced players.

    Adriano..plays similar to Ronaldo.

Strange thing is, they are both teammates at Manchester United. Makes you wonder how much longer Cristiano Ronaldo is going to be at Old Trafford.

In that game the Italians choked. Vieri had a wide open goal with no one to beat at the end of regulation and he shanked it over the goal. And Totti's ridiculous dive in the penalty area and subsequent 2nd yellow card and ejection was just an excuse for the Italians to use for the loss. Both goals by Korea in that game were due to sloppy Italian defending.

OK...here's my take. Ronaldinho has been playing out of position the entire tournament. He's a midfielder, not a striker. He should have gotten a lot of the touches that Ze Roberto was getting, for example. Ronaldo really hurt them too. He was profoundly unathletic and often resorted to physical and rough challenges. Often when he did get the ball upfront he was too slow/clumsy to get past his man and would quickly lose the ball. Only once was he able to make a couple of nifty moves that ultimately resulted in a free kick (which turned out to be the closest chance they had to score a goal).

On the other hand, Zidane was absolutely a wizard out there. My friends and I were simply awestruck with his fluidity ... he made everything look so easy and effortless. Like he had the ball on a string or something...he routinely broke ankles with an assortment of moves, passed the ball with astounding accuracy, and the free kick that resulted in Henry's goal was about as perfect as it gets.

Summary: France officially PWNS Brazil. Zidane is a football god. End of story.

Now I'm going to watch it again.

Ronaldinho never played striker -- he was playing midfield the entire tourney.

Ronaldo is gone, and as a United fan all I can say is good riddance. The last few days he's been talking about how much he wants to play for Real, and that he has already agreed to move there if Villa Mir wins the presidential election. Combine that with his bust up with Ruud at the end of the season, and today's altercation with Rooney, I can't see him ever playing for United again. I certainly won't miss his diving, lack of production, crying and ball hogging, but I'll love the money we'll get for selling him.

They've played with a single striker all tournament and have won every match.

The Brazilian possessions usually ended when Ronaldo received the ball unless he shot it right away. The guy was too out of shape to play in such a high level game.
