Well hopefully they won't play like they did earlier this year and lose 4-1 to italy...also remember that the italians do have the overall better record against the germans.

That game is going down the wire, possibly another PK shoot out. Italy might edge out, mark it.

Good one. The reason I never liked Germany team because of their iron nerve like machine. I like south american teams more, and south European teams too. They are more emotional. Did you see the tears burst out those Argentina players. How sad.

Thought you were talking about the WC...you didn't specify so I assumed WC since that is what the thread is about kiddo.

I really really wanted to see more Messi. He is going to be the next Maradonna, the dribbling and strong legs and low balance, very simliar to the soccer king. One just never know what will happen in the next world cup, although he is only 19. Hope he doesnt get injured. He is a true talent.

I have only gotten to see the limited time he played in this WC but he definetly showed he has some major skills..I really liked Tevez today as well... he had some nice dribbles between the defenders legs. That team will have another strong team come 2010

Tevez is going to fade IMO. He is too small as a forward. Good speed and good skill, but look how Saviola faded. Messi is the gem because the position he plays. But it seems he's already started having nagging injuries at such young age, not a good sign.

He's built completely different than Saviola though. He's the same size as Rooney, would you say he's too small to play striker?

Rooney is what 5'11 weighs about 170 pounds? Tevez is 5'7 or 5'8. Tevez is strong, but I really suspect he will do well in Euro league facing big defenders. Saviola, Ortega all faded fairly quickly in Europe with similar build. I agree Saviola is probably more on the agile side.
Rooney really reminds me of Paul Gascoigne, anyone? Gascoigne played more of as central mid-fielder, but their builds, skills, very similar to me.

The Germany vs Argentina match is so boring until the first goal. I didnt watch the Italy match but 3 goals wont worse much.

I am going to sacrify my bed time tonight watching England vs Portugal and France vs Brazil. Man, it will be 3am when the second match begins. I have so high hope on the 2nd match. You dont want to miss it.

Well, just finished watching both matches and Argentina should have won. They completely dominated the first 60 minutes of the match while Germany watched. That goalie cost them the match with that weak injury. The coach also made a bad decision by taking Riquelme out and then also by putting Julio Cruz in there instead of Messi or Saviola. Cruz did absolutely nothing. Argentina played beautifully but just ran out of steam.

Props to Italy for their win. At least they played with style and grace for a change, although they did flop alot. They had some very nice slick back heels and other sweet passes.

    Go England and Brazil tomorrow.

Haha...pass me some of the grass you're smoking. I love Zidane but France will NOT win 4-1.

Argentina made the mistake to try to defend their lead, they should have just continued to attack, they let Germany beck into the game. They let Germany come. Also putting Cruz in was a huge mistake, if you have the lead and you are going to try to counter(like they did) you put a fast striker in with a good dribble(somebody know a player like that on the argentina squad??? oh yeah right Messi).

The coach made some huge mistakes :( , now i do not know who i want to win.
    Italia: No
    Germany: NOOOOOO
    Brazil: No
    France: No
    Protugal:(after the last game) No
England: No, oh wait with this competition..... Go England
