The ref has totall lost control of this one. 9 on 8 in the knockout round? What a shame to have such terrible refereeing at this stage of the World Cup. I have one other beef with FIFA. If you're going to have the refs look closely at time wasting or shirt pulling or whatever, START IT IN QUALIFYING! Don't start these things in the finals. You scratch and claw your way to get to the World Cup and many teams are getting destroyed by cards that shouldn't be. Give them a chance to get used to what you want to enforce. Don't just throw it in at the last second. There is no excuse for what is going on in this tournament. FIFA should be ashamed of themselves.
That is just crazy. I guess it makes it a bit easier if some of portugals players are not there against England.
Well done by Portugal to hold on and make it to the quarterfinals. I really thought that Holland would tie it. Van Basten made a mistake in not getting Van Nistelrooy in the game. He might have finished some of those pathetic attempts by Kuyt (sp?). Just a shamful perfomance on the part of the ref and his crew.
